"Shopping" signifies more than the pure purchasing of goods. Strolling, looking at, choosing, buying and consuming goods has long become an essential part of urban life in the 20th century. Shopping is an essential ritual of public life, creating and transforming identity. Ever since Walter Benjamin´s description of the flaneur in the Paris arcades, the complex interchanges between consumer culture and art have become an issue worthy of discussion, and the book Shopping is the first extensive publication to be dedicated to this topic. It documents and analyses the fascination of fine artists, architects, film makers with the more and more sophisticated means of seduction in shop windows, department stores and shopping arcades. Extensive pictorial material serves to illustrate the interaction between art and the consumption of goods using works by Eugène Atget, Berenice Abbot, Walker Evans, Andy Warhol, Claes Oldenburg, Roy Lichtenstein, Christo, Duane Hanson, Barbara Kruger, Jeff Koons, Andreas Gursky, and many more. The book, edited by Christoph Grunenberg and Max Hollein, and with contributions by internationally renowned authors, provides a diversified basis for discussion of a topic so dear to all of us. (German edition available 3-7757-1213-5) The editor: Christoph Grunenburg is curator at the Tate Liverpool since 1999 after working at the Kunsthalle Basel and the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston. He has written extensively on the history of museums and installations and issues surrounding the presentation of art.Shipping Notes

Very nice nightstand organizer
Color: Bootlegger Brown, Size: 10.5" x 7" x 1.5"
I was looking for a way to keep all my essentials together at the end of every day, so I had started looking at valet trays. These caught my eye as they're rawhide that are offered in a few different tones. I chose the Large in the Bootlegger Brown tone as it goes with pretty much every decor and suits my style. It's a great shade, and the color is rich.
The size is perfect for my needs. Watch and ring at one end, phone on top of slim wallet on the other, and two small sets of keys in the middle. Not crowded, but also no wasted space. The leather is very thick, and the tray keeps quite rigid, despite its size. The edges are turned up just enough to contain your items, but not so much that you feel like you're digging down into something.
One minor gripe: I wish the bottom were somehow weighted to keep the tray from "wiggling" when grabbing items out of it. It would make for the perfect tray. I may try to affix something under it that's flat and heavy (but thin), so I'm not too worried about it. Overall I believe this is a fantastic product. I would recommend this for anyone who carries at least a half dozen EDC items as you're sure not to forget anything when preparing to head out for the day.

Good Coin / Keys Tray
Color: Midnight Black, Size: 7.5" x 5.5" x 1.5"
Loved this organizer so much that I ordered one for my Grandson for Christmas. Coins and keys don't make noise when dropped into the tray and it protects the wood of our dresser. Looks very nice too.

Great item, BUT…
Color: Bootlegger Brown, Size: 10.5" x 7" x 1.5", Color: Bootlegger Brown, Size: 10.5" x 7" x 1.5"
Do I love it? Yes.
Is it well made? It certainly appears to be.
Is the leather thick? Yes, I’d say definitely thick and sturdy.
Do I like the color (Bootlegger Brown)? Of course I do, it’s gorgeous.
It seems very well made. The corners are secured with black fasteners, which I think are going to better than the buttons in the long run that I’ve seen on others. It’s was this brand, or Hide and Drink for me. I went with these guys because it’s U.S. made, and hopefully American sourced leather.
I bought the Large. My concern was that the XL might be too large for my nightstand. I measured it out and everything. However, I was not counting on the length and width to be measured from the end of the pinched corners, so I was a little disappointed about the size of the useable surface area. It’s not a big deal, but I wish that I’d have just spent the extra $5 and got the XL. If I we’re to get another, I definitely go with the XL unless you just want something on the smallish side, but still I suspect that they are larger that what most others are offering. At least these guys give you a choice of options.
