Die brandneue komplette Auspuffanlage von Akrapovic für die Yamaha R9 ist speziell für die Modelle 2024-25 entwickelt worden. Sie orientiert sich im Design an den Akrapovic-Auspuffsystemen der Yamaha R6, R7 und R1 und ähnelt den in der World Supersport Championship verwendeten Auspuffanlagen. Diese hochwertige Auspuffanlage kombiniert eine leichte Titan-Außenhülle des Schalldämpfers und eine Endkappe mit einem Verbindungsrohr, Krümmern und einem Vorschalldämpfer aus Edelstahl.

Der Vorschalldämpfer ist so konzipiert, dass er unter dem Motorradkörper positioniert und von den unteren Verkleidungen verdeckt wird, während der Schalldämpfer auf der rechten Seite für ein rennsportliches Erscheinungsbild austritt. Ein Katalysator ist in das System integriert, um die EC/ECE-Typgenehmigung (Euro 5+) zu erfüllen. Zudem wird das System mit einer Aluminiumhalterung für den Schalldämpfer geliefert und erzeugt einen tiefen, sportlichen Klang.

Die Ingenieure von Akrapovic haben während des Entwicklungsprozesses besonderes Augenmerk auf die Gasannahme gelegt. Die Leistungs- und Drehmomentsteigerungen betragen 2,2 kW (3,0 PS) bei 10.000 U/min und 2,6 Nm bei 9.500 U/min, gemessen auf dem Akrapovic-Prüfstand im Vergleich zu einer Yamaha R9 mit serienmäßigem Auspuffsystem. Die Installation der Auspuffanlage ist einfach und erfordert keine Neukonfiguration der Motorsteuerung.
