Why Bamboo Shield?
As Kentucky is focused on sustainability, they wanted to develop a new green technology that everybody knows.

Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world that has an enormous tensile strength and avoids penetration of sharp objects and that is anti-bacterial.

The boots are made out a of strong TPU shell with multiple ventilation holes at the tendon area and a bigger triangle mesh ventilation. The Tendon area is reinforced with our bamboo shield to avoid penetration. Where the horse is flexing, Kentucky has added a soft natural rubber piece to avoid any friction. The inside part of the boots is reinforced with an extra layer of TPU to sustain high abrasion.

Kentucky has created their own in-house testing machine which creates a force of 80N falling down on a horizontal horse leg with a razor-sharp axe. The Bamboo shield horse boots withstand this extreme testing method that can't be compared with any real impact while riding. The boots are also Rico test approved and RCT certified.

Fabrics & materials
The Bamboo Shield front boots are made with Kentucky's highly breathable and well know 3D Spacer lining used in their 3D spacer turnout boots and horse rugs. They have a robust outer shell made of lightweight yet strong TPU shell, with an additional bamboo shield insert in the tendon area for optimum protection against any impact and penetration of sharp objects and is also anti-bacterial.

Shape and size
Thanks to the anatomically shaped design the boots fit nicely around the horse leg to give a maximum comfort and protection. This allows to give the horse a maximum of freedom of movement to be able to jump better. The soft and flexible rubber insert below the joint also offers the horse improved comfort in movement.
