The SURGEx C1615 is a piston-operated water hammer arrestor, size 'A', constructed from hard-drawn seamless copper and featuring a Lead-Free brass TEE, size DN15 (1/2") with male/female BSP connections. The female side boasts a swivel connection, facilitating installation in tight spaces. This device effectively absorbs shock caused by sudden changes in water flow direction, safeguarding pipes, valves, and fixtures from damage. Its primary applications include toilets and sinks, but it's also suitable for general plumbing. The BSP standard is widely adopted in various countries, including Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and many others. The C1615 is versatile, suitable for use in both cold and hot water systems, and can be installed in new or existing plumbing. Pre-charged with Nitrogen at the factory, the C1615 requires no maintenance or recharging.

MATERIAL OF CONSTRUCTION

• Body: Hard drawn seamless copper                        
• Piston: Polypropylene PP
• O-ring: EPDM
• Seal lubricant: Dow-Corning Silicone or equivalent compound approved for use in potable water systems

OPERATION
SURGEx-C1615 is pre-charged with pressurized gas (Nitrogen) and installed in the plumbing system near the source of the water hammer. When water flow suddenly stops, the piston inside the arrestor compresses the gas, which absorbs the pressure surge and reduces the risk of damage to the plumbing system. The compressed gas then slowly expands back to its pre-charged state, ready for the next water hammer event.
