The Berlin (or Kaufmann) is a medium height side mounted chinrest favored for its comfort and style. The edge of the cup is 20mm above the surface of the violin.
Figaro fine fittings are made only from the best sourced materials and finished by hand by craftsmen in a family owned business.
The Nero material is made in the USA from eucalyptus paper and thermosetting resins. It is pure black and mimics the finest Madagascar ebony. It is hypoallergenic and not susceptible to humidity or temperature change. The surface is impermeable to sweat and body fluids and therefore very easy to clean. The cork (Quercus suber) is the finest quality, fitted precisely to minimize acoustic interference and to maximize stability. The black hardware is all individually fitted by hand and are straight and thread easily. The Black brackets have the advantage of being less likely to produce sensitivity reactions for those players with nickel allergies compared to chrome brackets. There are no chinrests available that are superior.
