What it actually is

A reinforced fabric tray in waterproof oxford cloth, with a carry handle on the side and a velcro tab that holds it flat for storage. It pops open in seconds, sits stable on the floor, and folds back down when you're done. Two sizes — Medium for short trips and small cats, Large for longer trips and bigger cats.

Honest answers

Can I use this as my cat's main litter box at home?

You can, but we'd say don't. The 10–12 cm walls are lower than a standard home box, so litter scatters more on a serious dig. PawPort earns its keep as the second box — the one for travel, emergencies, and the day the regular one's drying.

Is the oxford cloth actually waterproof?

Waterproof for normal urine and litter contact, yes. It's not a watertight container — if you tip it on its side full, you'll have a problem. Wipe-clean for the everyday, rinse for a deeper clean, air dry.

Will it survive my cat scratching?

The lining is oxford fabric, not plastic. Light scratching is fine. A cat who really digs at the box will eventually wear the fabric — that's the trade-off for the fold-down. For most travel use cases that's not a problem; for a heavy daily digger, it would be.

Is there a lid?

No. PawPort is open-top — no lid, no zip. The velcro tab on the side is for keeping it folded flat in storage, not for closing the box in use. If you're moving litter from one place to another, empty the box first and fold it down. Don't try to transport it loaded.

Does it contain smells?

Like any open litter box, no. The oxford cloth keeps wetness in; it doesn't seal odour. Empty after each use, same as you would with a regular box.

How small does it fold?

Medium folds flat to roughly 28 × 38 × 2 cm — fits in a daypack. Large folds to roughly 38 × 48 × 3 cm — fits in a tote bag or a suitcase pocket.

Will my cat actually use it?

Most cats accept a familiar litter in an unfamiliar box quickly. Bring a scoop of your home litter into PawPort the first time — the smell of "their" litter helps. If you're going on a long trip, set PawPort up at home for a day or two before you leave so it's not new on top of new.
