These include the different shapes of bibs, additional trims and curved patch pockets, along with two different front fastenings - a button placket or a zip. The choice of fastening will determine the character of your garment, and you can play with the other optional features to suit the overall look and feel of the piece.
Technically, the French Smock requires precision and care, especially when sewing the front fastenings. It’s worth taking the front placket or zip very slowly and taking extra care in the presentation of the front design features. The front panel is the first piece on the make list, so once that’s finished, the rest of the make will be more relaxed. With this pattern, you’ll be able to create your own truly unique garment and play with the relationship between the fabric and the make details.
