This is a solar product and it requires sunlight to be powered. The length of time these stay illuminated depends on the time of year and weather conditions. This is an amazing moisturizer. I love how light and creamy it is. It goes on and absorbs well with a light fragrance. Only 4 stars because it did nothing at all for dark spots. While really sad about that I would buy again as I like it that much.
