Reproduction of Violet Reflection III by Chris Paschke
Chris Paschke — "Violet Reflection III" is a compelling example of contemporary watercolor practice, where the artist harnesses the medium's inherent translucency and fluidity to evoke a profound sense of atmosphere. The work aligns with a modern tradition of landscape painting that emphasizes mood and sensation over topographical accuracy, echoing the poetic sensibilities of 19th-century Romantic watercolors while diverging through its minimalist aesthetic. Compositionally, the piece is structured on an asymmetrical balance, with the landmass occupying the upper third and its reflection dominating the lower two-thirds, creating a visual equilibrium that is both stable and subtly dynamic. The artist employs a restrained palette of cool violets and blues, with delicate washes of ochre and white that suggest the soft light of dawn or dusk. This limited color scheme, combined with a high ratio of negative space, emphasizes the work's contemplative nature. The technique relies on the absorption of water and pigment into the paper, resulting in soft gradients and subtle tonal shifts that are characteristic of the watercolor medium. Historically, this approach situates the work within a lineage of landscape art that values emotional resonance and atmospheric effect, drawing from the traditions of artists like J.M.W. Turner and the American Tonalists, while reinterpreting them through a distinctly modern, minimalist lens. The interpretive significance of the piece lies in its ability to capture a fleeting moment of tranquility, inviting the viewer to reflect on the quiet beauty of the natural world and the ephemeral quality of light. For more art by Chris Paschke click here.

good stuff
I like this sun block. It doesn't sting my eyes and it seems to be effective. I am out in the sun a lot and I don't burn with this on, so it must work. It's not greasy so I use it under make up.

Easy to apply, neutral smell, and lasts long
I usually hate sunscreen, but this brand is acceptable. It doesn't leave a terrible waxy feeling on your skin, and it's easy to apply on your face. Also, it doesn't have an overpowering smell, which is nice.

Dry-touch but still uncomfortable to wear
It didn't rub in like regular sunblock, I suppose because the of the 'dry-touch'. But I could still feel it on my skin and was a little bit itchy. If you continue to rub it actually kind of peels away-then obviously negating putting it on in the first place. :(

It is a great sunscreen.
I love it, because it is no greasy and it feels like you don't have it on your face. It is a little expensive comparing to others but I think it is a good choice.

Have used it for years
One of the the best on the market because it is a broad spectrum sunscreen protecting against both UVA and UVB rays. But as with all lotions it must be reapplied after several hours.
