At the heart of this sumptuous mattress is the Dream Spring 3100-S individually pocketed innerspring unit that is precision crafted for our company in Germany. Out of all the spring units the German spring maker produces, our Dream Spring 3100-S unit that we use in our Dream Spring Collection is their top model. Surrounding the Dream Spring 3100-S Pocketed Innerspring Unit are layers of French wool for breathability, soft Talalay latex for added cushioning, Comfort Fill for added plushness, and more French wool to wick away moisture, and ventilate body heat. Most pocketed innersprings available have about a 2″ coil diameter. In comparison, the Dream Spring 3100-S has about a 1″ coil diameter with approximately 3,100 individually pocketed coils in a queen size mattress, and almost 4,000 coils in a king size mattress adjusting, contouring, and supporting every nook and cranny of the natural curves of our bodies for the ultimate in relaxation and relief to pressure points.

While others can tout impressive coil numbers, they achieve this by stacking smaller height coils on top of each other, but the coils are still the wider coil diameter, which is typically twice as wide as our Dream Spring. As well, stacking one mattress innerspring pocketed coil unit on top of another can lead to a lack of support with too much hip sag, which can result in sciatic or lower back pain. The Dream Spring 3100-S has a progressive 12 turn coil wire providing a soft initial suppleness, and progressively gets firmer as more body weight is applied for extraordinary support. In comparison, most coil springs have 5-6 turns for a comparatively less active response as the coil unit is wound more loosely.

Interesting to note in our observation when couples lay on the Dream Spring is when one is larger and the other petite, they both find the Dream Spring Mattress to be amazingly comfortable, and while we may have enjoyed firmer beds for years, as we get older sleeping on a bed with more give, but yet still supportive can be more comfortable as our body’s needs are changing.

There is an option to make The Dream Spring Mattress even softer by selecting the German stretch knit cotton fabric resulting in a Level 5 in firmness – the softest range within our line. The mattress then becomes approximately 10.5″ thick, and adding a pillowtop pad is not suggested because it’s already soft enough – even for those that want a really soft bed.

• Comfort Fill for Added Plushness: Located underneath the French Wool layer is a layer of odorless Comfort Fill hypoallergenic polyester fiber for added plushness.
• Talalay Latex Cushioning: A soft and thick layer of Talalay latex provides additional relaxation and pressure point relief. Its pincore construction allows body heat to ventilate. Latex is derived from the milky white sap of rubber tree plantations, and then processed at a modern plant in the Netherlands to exacting standards of quality.
• Quilted French Wool Support Layer: Pre-compressed French Wool is specially quilted into a dense support pad to provide support of the padding materials on top of the innerspring unit. We quilt the French wool with a special stretch knit cotton fabric to provide extra give and flexibility to allow the Dream Spring 3100-S pocketed innerspring unit to conform to the body’s natural contours.
