A low-cut ankle sock for adults in a breathable blend of 70% organic wool and 30% silk made in Germany by Hirsch Natur. With a short relaxed cuff and perfectly shaped for comfort - formerly known as bed socks these are part of Hirsch Natur's sport & wellness range and excellent for gym, yoga, and keeping feet warm and snug in bed or whilst in rehabilitation.

Wool feels comfortable and dry, even when you sweat. It can absorb a lot of humidity (up to 33% of its dry weight) and doesn't feel cold or wet when damp.

Hirsch Natur is Germany's oldest sock knitting mill and still make socks from all natural fibres - super hard to come by these days.

Sizes: 36/37, 38/39, 40/41, 42/43 (see below for size chart)

Colours: Natural (undyed), Indigo Blue, Midnight

Brand Hirsch Natur
Designed in: Germany
Origin of Fibre: Merino sourced from certified organic farming in Patagonia
Country of manufacture: Spun in Europe. Dyed, knitted and manufactured in Germany.
Certifications: NATURTEXTIL IVN certified BEST (IVN BEST) organic
Fabric structure: Knitted from 70% certified organic merino wool and 30% mulberry silk. A few threads of elastane are also sewn into the top inch of the cuff - these threads make up 0.3-0.5% of total fibres.
Biodegradability: Wool and silk fibres are 100% biodegradable. Before composting, remove the elastane threads from the cuff to dispose of separately.
Machine Washable: No (see our guide to washing wool)

Care: Air between uses, only wash when required, handwash only. Please treat these socks with the same care and love you'd give to a handknitted sock. All wool socks will wear through faster than socks with nylon. Darn for life long love.

More about wool socks:
These Hirsch natur socks are made from 70% unprocessed organic merino wool and are Handwash only. Best to air your socks for three days if you feel they need a wash. Hirsch Natur recommend washing every 6 weeks. Alternate with another pair so you don’t wear them continuously, they need a break! They don’t have any nylon in them so with lots of wear the wool will start to wear down and then it’s time to reinforce them or mend any holes that are starting to develop, like in days of old. Because you don’t need to wash them very often, handwashing them doesn’t take too long and will save them from washing machine mishaps.

IVN BEST is the highest ecological standard that can currently be achieved in the textile industry, taking into account environmental & social welfare. The IVN BEST certification is only awarded to textiles made from 100% organically produced natural fibres. The certification takes into account all the environmental effects of the entire production process, from production of the fibres to the finished garment, along with high social welfare standards for all companies involved in the process.

Needs to be updated
Format: Hardcover
Excellent book, but now that it is 2019, it needs to be updated to reflect the current health care system. This book details average inpatient hospitalization stays as 10-90 days. The current average length of stay at an inpatient hospital is 3-15 days. So a lot of the information about how to run groups was not as applicable now - in the book, it assumed patients would be together in groups for weeks, but the reality is that sometimes patients are only together for a day or two.

Yalom Still Rules
Yalom is as relevant today as ever. Writing with art for science, Yalom offers insights and wisdom for clinical group practice that have changed the way I approach my whole life. If you have the luck to read this as an assigned text, you may be relieved by his novelistic approach and his integration of existential philosophy. If you are looking for the deep dive, he’s your guy.

Great buy!
We utilized this text during my Group Psychology course in my masters program. I felt it was very informative and is referred to highly by several of my colleagues. I had sold the text back to my campus book store a few years ago, but have decided I will benefit from having a copy available to me over my development as a professional. The information within this text, specifically the theories described by Yalom, are also incorporated into the state licensure exam, so it is a good reference to have when studying for this exam as well.

Excellent definitive group process textbook - not dry or verbose
Yalom certainly conveys his knowledge, research, and experience clearly in an organized, interesting, and engaging way that makes this textbook easy reading, but not at all simplistic. Had to stop and "chew" on material often to absorb. A must for anyone who has the responsibility of facilitating a therapy group. Not for support group-related work, especially. This is process group 100%.
