It's in mint condition, never been inked, so it's basically brand new. The cap and barrel are brushed 23K gold electroplated, and a matching 23K gold clip. No scratches, dents, or wear at all. The cap clip has "SHEAFFER USA" stamped on the sides, and the cap band tells you it's "SHEAFFER U. S. A. 0466 2003." The barrel is laser engraved,

Here's a really nice find: a Sheaffer Legacy 2 Mount Everest Limited Edition fountain pen, number 466 out of 2003. It's in mint condition, never been inked, so it's basically brand new. The cap and barrel are brushed 23K gold electroplated, and a matching 23K gold clip. No scratches, dents, or wear at all.

The cap clip has "SHEAFFER USA" stamped on the sides, and the cap band tells you it's "SHEAFFER U.S.A. 0466/2003." The barrel is laser engraved, commemorating the first Mount Everest ascent by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay on May 29th, 1953, and even includes the Nepalese name for the mountain, Sagarmatha, in Nepali Script.

This Sheaffer uses the Touchdown filling system. Or, if you prefer, you can use Sheaffer ink cartridges. It's about 139.7mm capped. It comes with the original beachwood box and all the papers. The box does have a crack on the lid. Basically, it's a rare and super clean limited edition pen.
