- Character display ability significantly improved. Capable of displaying up to six Japanese kanji characters (higher resolution than previous models). Also capable of displaying kanji characters input from a PC. 
- Common commands are accessible on a jog lever to support comfortable, single handed operation
- The direction of the clip can be changed by removing it and re-attaching it in the desired direction
- In the case of Japanese kana or alphanumeric characters, the group/disc name and track name can be displayed at the same time on two separate rows
- Equipped with a backlight
- Large, half-width 12 character display (the ability to display 12 half-width characters means the display resolution is better than previous models)
