The Secret Life of Houdini Laid Bare provides a fascinating peek into the voluminous files that were collected from all parts of the world. Plus, all of the material that was edited out of the original biography appears in Houdini Laid Bare for the first time. Scattered throughout the book are more than seventy rare photographs relating to the career of the Great Houdini.
Fans of magic history will find that reading both books together will bring each one to life. Sold only as a set, these books are packaged in a beautiful slipcase. To commemorate the publication of this important book, artist Chrysse Haynes painted two original oil paintings; one shows Houdini escaping from a strait jacket and the other of him about to be lowered into the Water Torture Cell. Both can be seen in the thumbnail images at the right. These images, signed by each of the authors, have been tipped into a first edition of The Secret Life of Houdini and The Secret Life of Houdini Laid Bare. Each book is numbered and only 1,000 sets have been produced.

Lasted whole five minutes!

I received this last night and did a cute "unwrapping" this morning for my dog, who was thrilled to get new balls. Unfortunately, the excitement was short-lived. I know the description says this isn't a chew toy or for aggressive chewers, but lasting only five minutes is ridiculous. You can see in my photo that it ripped from a single bite while my pup was just pulling the ball. I thought that was exactly what this toy was designed for!

Dog loves it, but it comes apart pretty quick.
Size: One Size
The dog loved chasing it and playing tug-of-war, but it lasted less than 30 days. If the outer rubber portion of cover was thicker, or all canvas material, it would probably last for a few months of rough play. May buy again if I can't find something similar to try.

Fun for my puff ball lover

The gun is very cheaply made and sometimes shoots when the trigger isn't pulled. But my puff ball loving monster seems to love it and all his new puff balls. He was literally jumping with joy.

What a great cat toy!

So I bought two of these. One for me and the house cat and one for my niece and her garage/indoor cat. My cat is nearing her 16th year in the world and loves attacking these balls…when she is in the mood and not sleepy. They are great to throw at her, as she will bat at them or catch and bite them. They are super light weight and will not hurt the cat even when triggered by the gun. The gun will launch the ball a good yard or so, but it’s much more interesting if you angle it up and towards the cat as they will watch and attack as it falls. I have tried endlessly to make a video but she stops every time I hit record. It’s not just with this toy but with anything I try and catch her doing…hit record and she is suddenly on her best behavior or walks away. :/ I recommend this product for bored household cats and I think even the young ones would have more fun with it. I should mention that the gun noise might be a bit jarring to cats, but if you put a small hair tie (like the small clear ties) around the back pull- piece (this is the piece you pull back to cock the gun and put a soft ball in the chamber) it mutes the sound of the gun being fired. Overall, the cat and I are happy with this product.
