Deep purple colour with aromatic notes of red berry and blackcurrants framed by violet overtones and subtle cedarwood spice. The palate is dense and plush with flavours of blood plum, chocolate, blueberry and spice with a supple, slippery mouthfeel framed by subtle oak toast and fine tannins.

An absolute terrific vintage for this southern wine region of South Australia. Brilliant conditions throughout the ripening period enabled the development of richly scented, ripe and flavour-filled fruit with a finesse in acidity of the great years. Tannins are lovely and ripe and will provide ample shape and structure for cellaring.

Sourced from a selection of mature, dry-grown vineyards in Langhorne Creek managed by Jim Zerella. The fruit is partially hand-harvested before de-stemming and cool fermentation in small two tonne open fermenters with regular hand plunging. Matured in seasoned French oak (20% new French) for six months before bottling with minimal filtration and sulphur addition.

The Elephant in the Room wines are proudly large in scale and expansive in flavour. Created to deliver full bodied and mouth-filling wines, Elephant in the Room gives consumers what they want- quality, flavour and something to talk about. Each wine is sourced from slow-ripening cool climate vineyards and partially matured in French Oak before final blending and bottling by Corey Ryan.
