Reproduction of Sunday Morning Sail v2 by Carol Rowan

Carol Rowan — "Sunday Morning Sail v2" is a masterful example of contemporary coastal landscape painting, seamlessly blending the traditions of Impressionism with the modern sensibilities of painterly abstraction. The work aligns with the enduring American coastal aesthetic, drawing inspiration from the luminist tradition of the 19th century while transcending mere topographical representation. Compositionally, Rowan employs an asymmetric balance, placing the lighthouse as a dominant vertical anchor on the left, which draws the eye toward the expansive sea and the distant sailboat, creating a dynamic yet harmonious visual journey. The artist’s use of a soft, muted color palette—dominated by sky blue and white with delicate accents of earthy greens and pinks—creates a serene atmosphere, emphasizing the interplay of light and atmosphere over precise detail. This approach is characteristic of the Impressionist movement, where the artist captures the fleeting quality of light and mood rather than the static permanence of form. The painting’s technique, with visible, expressive brushstrokes, adds a tactile quality that enhances its painterly character, inviting viewers to engage with the work not as a photographic record but as a sensory experience of a tranquil moment. Historically, such works serve as cultural artifacts that reflect a societal desire for connection to nature and the coast, a theme that has persisted in American art for over a century. Rowan’s piece is significant for its ability to evoke a sense of peace and timelessness, making it a compelling example of how contemporary artists continue to interpret and revitalize traditional landscapes for modern audiences.

Epson SureColor F170 Dye-Sublimation Printer. Includes Full Set of Ink
I recently invested in the Epson SureColor F170 Dye-Sublimation Printer, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. This printer is designed specifically for dye-sublimation printing, offering vibrant, high-quality prints with incredible color accuracy and sharp details. The setup was straightforward, and the included full set of ink made it easy to start printing immediately without any extra purchases. The inks produce bright, durable prints that work wonderfully on a variety of sublimation-compatible materials like fabric, ceramics, and metal. What I appreciate most is the compact design of the F170 — it fits comfortably on my workspace without taking up too much room. The printer operates quietly and efficiently, making it ideal for both small business and hobbyist use. Print speeds are impressive for the quality delivered, and the Epson software integration helps streamline the printing process. Whether you’re creating custom apparel, personalized gifts, or promotional products, this printer provides consistent, professional-grade results. Overall, the Epson SureColor F170 is a reliable, user-friendly dye-sublimation printer that’s perfect for anyone looking to get into sublimation printing or upgrade their current setup. Highly recommended! Wish was borderless printing

I would not recommend if you can afford something more expensive
So far the sublimated color is not true: (example) the pretty pink comes out as orange on both polyester fabric and wooden coaster using the only three setting on the printer: paper, photo glossy, photo matt. There is no “presentation” setting for the excellent color I had on the Epson ET-2800 (which I would NOT recommend for durability nor Epson’s customer service!). I purchased Epson, again, ONLY because I could not afford other sublimation printers and this one had the best reviews of what I could find. But Epson has its customers held hostage by way of the ink. IF YOU USE ANY BRAND SUBLIMATION INK OTHER THAN EPSON, THEY WILL NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY. And Epson ink is EXPENSIVE (“average” is ~ $0.55/print based on 200 pages/bottle) when compared to the brand offered on Amazon as a substitute. So I’d recommend buying the Assurion coverage if you plan to use sublimation ink other than Epson. That is the ONLY thing that saved me when the ET-2800 went Caput (twice!). (The last time it was trashed, so Assurion refunded the original purchase price—within the mfr warranty time which Epson refused to honor.)

Get’s the job done.
It works good. It didn't come with a cord or clear instructions on how to use it. I used my cord from my printer to get it started. I would have sent it back but you can't once you add ink.
