"Three cheers for Quasimodo!" From one of the heartfelt final scenes of Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, this incredible original animation drawing features Quasimodo and a young girl who looks past his deformed appearance to accept and celebrate his true kindness.

Loosely inspired by Victor Hugo's 1831 novel, this musical drama was released in June 1996 as one of the first films produced in the brand-new Disney Feature Animation building in Burbank. This remarkable and emotional drawing was used to create moments starting around the 1:23:34 mark in one of the film's final scenes, where a young girl sees what the adults around her cannot and embraces Quasimodo before the camera pulls out for a final wide shot of Notre Dame and the surrounding Parisian architecture.

This drawing was created on 16-field animation paper using red pencil. The sheet is numbered in the lower-right corner.

This scene was crafted by renowned animator James Baxter, who also supervised Belle's animation in Beauty and the Beast (1991) and brought Ariel to life in The Little Mermaid (1989).
