This instrument reinterprets a defining piece of Pelikan’s early visual heritage: Georg Tippel’s 1899 poster, "Grundfarben." Created for the brand's first poster competition at the dawn of modern advertising, the artwork depicts the pelican as a nurturing parent, a powerful symbol of devotion, responsibility, and trust. By transferring this historic narrative onto the pen's barrel, Pelikan continues its tradition of transforming cultural heritage into contemporary writing art, communicating the same core values that remain central to the brand today.

The design is defined by an abstract, rhythmic pattern reimagined from the flowing cloud formations in Tippel’s original sky. These contoured forms are brought to life through the sophisticated Aurora process, featuring finely engraved guilloché structures beneath multiple layers of lacquer to create a luminous, shimmering depth.
