Their Ried Satzing Rotgipler is a special wine, made from the best quality grapes from their Gumpoldskirchen vineyard. Suited to Thermenregion’s relatively warm climate, the Familie Reinisch Ried Satzing Rotfipfler has warming notes of ripe mandarin, lychee and honeysuckle in full bloom, accompanied by a distinct mineral backbone. It’s a juicy, fruity wine that is balanced perfectly by the classic Austrian soaring acidity, for which their wines are growing in appreciation around the world.

Rotgipfler is a grape variety only really found in the Thermenregion, just south of Vienna. It ripens later than Riesling and Grüner Veltliner, Austria’s more famous white grapes, and this makes it well suited to the climate in Thermenregion which is warmed by the thermal spas that run under the soil. Aromatic, ripe yet always fresh, this Rotgipfler is a wine drinker’s wine that has a steely mineral edge, similar to that acquired by some of France’s most esteemed whites. The palate is packed with flavours that open up in the glass, in fact we think this would age pretty nicely over the next 3-5 years too. We’ll forgive you for not having tasted one before, and you’ll thank us once you’ve tasted.
