Walthamstow, an area of great significance to William Morris, is an adaptation of an artwork for carpet, held at The Huntington. Its vertical border, sketched initially in graphite, contains stylised honeysuckles, which the design team have incorporated in this beautifully translated pattern, with mirroring indicative of the typical 19th-century style. Honeysuckles, daisies, and acanthus leaves all swirl together in a striking repeat, edged by a checkboard border. The fabric has been flat-bed screen printed in our UK factory, a process that honours traditional craft skills. This technique allows for rich ink penetration into the natural fibres, resulting in a fabric with authentic marks and a deep, artisanal colour.

ABOUT MORRIS & CO.

As a political theorist, publisher, environmental campaigner, poet, as well as an outstanding designer, William Morris (1834–1896) was one of the single most influential figures of the nineteenth century. Under his direction Morris & Co. grew to the status of Arts & Crafts icon that it remains to this day.

Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. (1861–1875) was a furnishings and decorative arts manufacturer and retailer founded by the artist and designer William Morris with friends from the Pre-Raphaelites. With its successor Morris & Co. (1875–1940) the firm's medieval-inspired aesthetic and respect for hand-craftsmanship and traditional textile arts had a profound influence on the decoration of churches and houses into the early 20th century.

Although its most influential period was during the flourishing of the Arts and Crafts Movement in the 1880s and 1890s, Morris & Co. remained in operation in a limited fashion from World War I until its closure in 1940. The firm's designs are still sold today under licences given to Sanderson & Sons.

Not as pictured
From the picture, this duck looked stuffed and full. Instead it is completely flat.

Not so durable, but still decent
Durable...if you don't have a dog that chews. But it is cute and he LOVED it while it lasted. He just has a vengence against all squeakers.

Great Soft Duck Toy
I've bought several of these over the years. My Australian Shepherds love them and often play with the duck on their own. Eventually one surcomes to an occasional tug-a-war. My dogs are moderate tuggers.

It's his favorite toy
This duck is his favorite toy. He takes his "duck baby" up to bed with him every night. It's held up to his love well. This is his second duck as the one we received as a gift 2 years ago is still alive and well just very dirty and in need of a stand in when his time comes. Over all Rico is quite happy with Duck and would give 5 barks.
