Historical Background

This katana, with its historical roots and masterful execution, is not only a functional weapon but also a treasured work of art. Crafted by Chounsai Emura, it stands as a rare and valuable piece of Japanese swordsmithing history, cherished by collectors and enthusiasts alike.

Chounsai Emura, also known as Emura Shigetato, was a prominent Japanese swordsmith active during the Shōwa era (1926–1989). Based in Okayama, he served as the head of a prison, where he established a unique sword-making school to support Japan’s wartime efforts during World War II. Operating under the Bizen tradition, Emura crafted blades of remarkable quality, training prisoners in the art of swordsmithing and producing swords for military use.

Despite being an amateur smith, his works are celebrated for their exceptional craftsmanship, featuring intricate hamon (tempered edge patterns) and tightly grained jigane (steel surfaces). Emura personally supervised the hardening of the blades until 1942, ensuring consistent quality. Today, his swords are highly sought after by collectors, valued for their historical significance, artistic beauty, and rarity, standing alongside the prestigious Yasukuni-to as enduring symbols of Japanese sword-making tradition.

Luxurious? Um, absolutely!
Size: 2'6" x 5', Color: Ivory White
Oh wow, I love this. Thick and cozy, lovely to sit on. I draped this over an old garage sale recliner that suffered an astonishingly bad upholstery choice decades ago and despite still being in good condition, it's quite unpretty. This skin covers nearly the entire back and most of the seat of that unpretty recliner, and now it's actually rather attractive and I love to sit there, surrounded by this thick, lovely long wool. A bit sheepy smelling at times but I haven't minded. A quick shake restores its appearance. It arrived quickly to my door and came with a brush, which I haven't needed to use. Really, really glad I bought this.

Worth every penny.
Size: 2'6" x 5', Color: Black
It has been my experience that this rug and this company is fabulous if you need or if you want something that’s rich well-made well thought of sheepskin rug you can’t go wrong with this company they take pride in their work I mean by this if you want a sheepskin rug buy from this company. This was the one that I bought and I cannot tell you how gorgeous it is. It saves money because it costs money when you buy cheap you buy twice you buy this. You can forget about it. That’s how good it is.. The weight is perfect. The color is rich and the price there is really no price for something. That is excellent because I’ve been looking around for rugs like this for different creations and decorative tableau and there’s a lot of junk out there..

Not as pictured, but ...
Buyers should note that the advertised photo shows a white rug with gray tips, but the rug I received has a lot of yellow in. Despite the difference, I've decided to keep it because it is a beautiful rug and very soft.
