Reproduction of Mesa View I by Kristy Rice
Kristy Rice — "Mesa View I" is a compelling example of contemporary watercolor landscape painting that synthesizes the traditions of American plein air art with a distinctly modern sensibility. The work aligns with the broader movement of contemporary realist landscape painting, yet it departs from strict naturalism through its expressive use of color and fluid, gestural application of pigment. The composition is structured by an asymmetric balance, with the vast, luminous sky occupying the upper two-thirds of the canvas, creating a profound sense of scale and atmospheric depth. The artist employs a palette of warm, earthy hues—ochres, siennas, and deep reds—interspersed with cool cerulean and violet washes, which not only delineate the topography but also imbue the scene with a luminous quality that suggests the interplay of light and shadow at a specific time of day. The technique is characterized by soft, translucent layers that allow the paper's texture to remain visible, a hallmark of watercolor that enhances the work's ethereal and ephemeral quality. Historically, the piece resonates with the legacy of early 20th-century American landscape artists who sought to capture the unique light and character of the Western frontier, while also echoing the more recent trends of 'New Western' art that emphasize environmental awareness and spiritual connection to place. The interpretive significance of "Mesa View I" lies in its ability to evoke a sense of tranquility and timelessness, transforming a specific geographic location into a universal symbol of natural beauty and quiet contemplation. For more art by Kristy Rice click here.

Great product, saved my hair
Honestly this is one of the best products I have ever used for my hair. I have been able to increase volume and thickness of my hair. The product is versatile and can be used in conjunction with other products as well. The application is very easy and I usually use any excess product on my skin for the added benefits. If you have fine hair your hair will get oily if you don't wash out so I just apply at night and wash out the next morning. Overall my hair is so much healthier and I am really happy I found this. Also I apply this 2-3 times per week overnight and wash in the AM. It will stain your pillow case so sleep with a bonnet or something with breathable material.

Love this batana oil over the other brands
This batana oil has natural ingredients and leaves my hair very moisturized. I have seen some hair growth after using this for a few weeks. So it's great value for my money. It does have a coffee scent but that doesn't bother me at all. I would definitely repurchase this again.

**UPDATE ON PDT*** Ingredients changed
Ok here’s my update (4/4/26)
We loved it. It did what it was supposed to do in the beginning but now I stopped using the product. Ingredients must’ve changed. It’s now a darker color, it doesn’t dissolve like it did in the past, and worst part— my daughter’s hair started breaking off. It could just be her hair but I don’t want to take chances. The ingredients definitely changed.
We are trying azure batana and will stick with it for 3 months to see results. But as of now their product looks like the real deal. It’s a shame because I like consistency. I’ll stick with one product for years. Oh well. Tossed this one out.

Yes it works. It smells so if you’re sensitive to smells, you might only want to use it as a deep conditioner. Both my daughter & I are adjusted to the smell and love the results so we can easily prioritize our results over the less than fragrant odor. But the results!!!
My daughter lost 40% of her hair a yr ago to severe scalp ezcema (+ a trip to St Martin’s beautiful yet salty water). We used other products with marginal success. I started using this product 2 months ago & I already see results. We use it twice weekly as a spot treatment along the crown & nape of her head, and deep condition with it twice monthly. Her locs are growing and more importantly, her edges and nape are recovering tremendously. We’re going to keep at it!! We like the texture (moist but not sticky), it leaves her locs moisturized but not weighed down. Her hair is drinking it up. Will repost after 2 more months.
