      About Nakagawa Hamono 中川打刃物

Satoshi Nakagawa (中川悟志) is a relatively young knifemaker based in the famous city of Sakai in Japan. 16 years ago, he started learning from legend artisan Kenichi Shiraki (白木健一), one of the very best blacksmiths in Japan. As master Shiraki retired and closed his workshop in 2020, the torch has been passed down to Satoshi Nakagawa, Shiraki’s only Deshi (disciple). In April 2021, Satoshi Nakagawa-san launched his own workshop Nakagawa Hamono.

      Care:

Aogami #1 (Blue #1) steel is a premium Japanese high carbon steel for knife making. Despite some corrosion resistant quality (for a carbon steel), it is not stainless, therefore you should wipe your knife dry after each use. Patina will develop over time. Rust may develop if left in prolonged contact with water or acidic food. Use a rust eraser to clean if rusts develop. Avoid cutting into bones, frozen foods, hard fruit pits.

      Cutting Surface:

Recommended cutting surface: wood, rubberized boards and high-end composites, and quality plastics such as polyethylene make acceptable cutting surfaces, and will help protect and prolong knife’s edge. AVOID glass, metal, countertops, and other rigid, non-forgiving surfaces.

      Sharpening:

We recommend sharpening all quality Japanese knives on whetstones, as we believe they yield the best results for your knives.

      Not for "chewers" or puppies.
The toy is not "ruff and tuff", at all. Puppy had it torn to bits in just a few minutes. Nothing like handing your dog the toy while you finish unloading groceries only to come back and it looks like it snowed stuffing in your living room. It's made of a very thin material and is quite flimsy. Won't be buying this brand again. Might be good for an older dog who just wants to carry it around or play fetch. Although it's so light and flimsy, throwing it any farther than a few yards probably wouldn't work...

      Favorite Handy Toy
This snake has been around our house for years! My shitzu/maltease dog is tiny, and he has a small mouth, but I call him Diablo! He loves to growl and act like a horrible terror when it comes to fighting over a little squeaky toy, and we use the snake to try to "push" the little toy away from his mouth. He loves to bite the snake and pull on it viciously. The snake has tiny holes in it, but has pretty much stayed intact. I am getting ready to add more stuffing inside it so it won't be so floppy. years of use have flattened it out. I love this thing. Well worth the money for a small-mouthed dog. The squeaker in the head was fun while it lasted, but the beauty of this snake is its shape and versatility as a pull on, and sneak up behind toy.

80lb Dog Goes Wild Over This Pulpo
My dog goes wild over this toy. The key difference between this and other octopus chew and rip toys is that this has a head horn, crinkle legs, and a squeaker in every limb. It makes it so much fun to play with him. After he destroys the sounds, he parades it around for his victory show.

Nice toy. But our dog ripped it apart in less than an hour. Bassett hound
