Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable for safety.
2. Remove the lower unit gear case drain and vent screws to drain the gear oil.
3. Unbolt and carefully slide the lower unit off the driveshaft housing.
4. Remove the bolts securing the old water pump housing and lift the housing off.
5. Remove the old impeller, wear plate, key, and gaskets. Note their orientation.
6. Thoroughly clean the mounting surfaces of the lower unit and driveshaft.
7. Install the new gasket and wear plate onto the lower unit.
8. Place the new impeller key on the driveshaft and slide the new impeller on, turning the shaft clockwise to seat the vanes.
9. Install the new pump housing with its new gaskets and seals, then tighten the bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
10. Apply a light coat of marine grease to the driveshaft splines and reinstall the lower unit.
11. Refill the gearcase with the correct type and amount of marine gear oil.
12. Reconnect the battery and test the engine in water, ensuring a steady stream from the tell-tale outlet.
