This delicious Cabernet Merlot from the prestigious Hawke’s Bay, displays flavours of dark cherry and blackcurrant with a hint of leather and spice The palate is weighty with balanced acidity and a silky fine structure. Highlights of wild blackberry and dark chocolate with a toasty oak note lift the palate to showcase silky tannins with great length. Drinking beautifully now this wine can be enjoyed young or with careful cellaring will mature over the next 5 years or beyond.

W5 Cabernet Merlot underwent malolactic fermentation while aging in a mix of new and seasoned older French oak.  It was then gently extracted, blended and prepared for bottling.

Food Pairing: Matched perfectly with pan seared venison and a wild rice salad.
