Kanto SP32 32" Bookshelf Speaker Swiveling Floor Stands at Vinyl Sound Toronto Canada

The SP32 is a pair of 32-inch swiveling floor speaker stands from Kanto (Vancouver, Canada), available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. The taller companion to the Kanto SP26, the SP32 shares the same SP-series platform and is purpose-built as the dedicated floor stand for the Kanto YU4 and Kanto YU6 powered bookshelf speakers. Key features include a rotating top plate for precise speaker toe-in adjustment without repositioning the base, a 1/4"-20 mounting screw to secure compatible speakers directly to the stand, and a solid steel structure with full foam top surface padding for resonance reduction and speaker isolation. The hollow column routes both power cables and speaker wire internally for a clean, wire-free presentation, and interchangeable spiked and domed rubber feet provide secure, floor-safe placement on carpet and hard floor surfaces alike.

Rotating Top Plate and Precision Toe-In

The SP32 rotating top plate allows the speaker to be angled horizontally toward the listening position independently of where the stand base sits on the floor. At 32 inches of height, the SP32 is designed for listeners seated on standard-height sofas where a taller tweeter position is needed to achieve correct ear-level alignment, and the swivel mechanism ensures that even stands placed at an angle or offset from the ideal position can still deliver the speaker's primary dispersion axis directly to the listening seat. This adjustability is particularly valuable in open-plan living spaces, rooms with asymmetric layouts, or setups where furniture placement restricts ideal stand positioning. The result is improved stereo imaging focus and more consistent high-frequency delivery across the listening area.

Solid Steel Construction and Vibration Isolation

The SP32 column and base are fabricated from solid steel, providing the structural mass and rigidity needed to suppress sympathetic resonance during playback. The entire top surface of each stand is covered in foam padding, which acts as a compliant isolation layer between the speaker cabinet base and the steel top plate. This foam decoupling layer reduces the micro-vibrations transmitted between the stand and the speaker in both directions, lowering coloration and keeping the reproduced sound more faithful to the source. Speakers secured with the included 1/4"-20 mounting screw benefit additionally from the mechanical grounding provided by the fixed attachment, while the foam layer protects cabinet finishes from contact wear. The hollow column conceals both power cables and speaker wire from entry at the base to exit near the top plate, eliminating trailing cables entirely.

Key Features

  • Rotating Top Plate: The swiveling top plate adjusts speaker toe-in angle toward the listening position without moving the stand base, optimizing stereo imaging and direct sound delivery for any room layout.
  • 1/4"-20 Mounting Hole and Screw: A dedicated mounting interface with included 1/4"-20 screw secures the Kanto YU4, YU6, or any compatible speaker directly to the top plate, preventing displacement during playback.
  • Solid Steel Structure: Full steel construction provides the mass and rigidity required to minimize resonance and maintain a stable, level speaker platform throughout extended listening sessions.
  • Foam-Padded Top Surface: Full-coverage foam insulation on the top plate decouples the speaker cabinet from the steel stand, reducing vibration transfer and protecting cabinet finishes from contact wear.
  • Integrated Cable Management: The hollow steel column conceals power cables and speaker wire internally from base to top, keeping the listening area free of trailing wires and the setup visually clean.
  • Interchangeable Spiked and Domed Feet: Spiked feet anchor the stand firmly on carpet, while domed rubber feet protect hardwood, laminate, and tile floors. Both sets are included and can be swapped without tools.
  • 32-Inch Height: Positions most bookshelf speaker tweeters at seated ear level for standard sofa listening positions, delivering the speaker's primary dispersion axis directly to the listener.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the Kanto SP32 speaker stands?

The Kanto SP32 are a pair of 32-inch swiveling floor speaker stands built from solid steel, featuring a rotating top plate, a 1/4"-20 mounting screw, full foam top surface padding, and an integrated cable management channel through the hollow column. Made by Kanto, a Canadian audio accessories brand based in Vancouver, the SP32 is designed as the taller dedicated floor stand companion for the Kanto YU4 and YU6 powered bookshelf speakers, and is compatible with any speaker that accepts a standard 1/4"-20 mounting thread.

What is the difference between the Kanto SP32 and the Kanto SP26?

The Kanto SP32 and SP26 are identical in construction, features, mounting system, cable management, and included accessories, differing only in column height at 32 inches versus 26 inches. The SP32 is the correct choice for listeners seated on standard-height sofas or in rooms where a taller tweeter position is needed to achieve ear-level alignment, while the SP26 suits lower seating positions or setups where a shorter stand height is preferred. Both models share the same rotating top plate, 1/4"-20 mounting interface, foam-padded top surface, and interchangeable spiked and domed feet.

How does the Kanto SP32 compare to the Kanto ST34 or the Kanto SX26?

The Kanto SP32, ST34, and SX26 are each optimized for a different listener priority. The SP32 is purpose-built around the rotating top plate and 1/4"-20 speaker mounting system, making it the best choice when toe-in adjustability and secure speaker attachment are the primary requirements, particularly for Kanto YU4 and YU6 owners. The ST34 offers a cleaner traditional stand design with a weighted MDF base and integrated cable management, but without swivel or mounting hole functionality. The SX26, while shorter, adds a fillable mass-loading column and bespoke isolation foot system for listeners focused on maximum resonance reduction. For swivel capability and direct speaker mounting, the SP32 is the appropriate choice within the Kanto range.

Can the Kanto SP32 be used with speakers other than the Kanto YU4 and YU6?

Yes, the Kanto SP32 is compatible with any bookshelf speaker that accepts a standard 1/4"-20 mounting thread on its base, which is a common thread size used across many speaker manufacturers. Speakers without a mounting hole can also rest securely on the foam-padded top plate surface, making the SP32 a viable option for a broader range of compact bookshelf speakers beyond the Kanto YU series. Checking that the speaker's base footprint fits within the top plate dimensions before purchasing is recommended for non-Kanto models.

Does the Kanto SP32 work safely on hardwood floors?

Yes, the Kanto SP32 is fully safe for use on hardwood, laminate, and tile floors when fitted with the included domed rubber feet. The rubber feet provide a non-marking, protective contact layer that prevents scratches during normal use and when repositioning the stands. For carpeted rooms, the included spiked feet can be swapped in to anchor the base more firmly into soft floor surfaces and prevent movement during playback. Both foot types are included in the box and can be exchanged without tools.

How does the cable management work on the Kanto SP32?

The Kanto SP32 column is hollow along its full 32-inch height, allowing both a power cable and a speaker wire to be routed from an entry point at the base up through the interior of the column and out near the top plate where they connect to the speaker. This keeps all cabling concealed inside the stand structure, eliminating visible cables along the floor and between the stand and the speaker. For Kanto YU4 and YU6 users who need to route both a power supply cable and a speaker-level input simultaneously, the SP32 column is sized to accommodate both cable types without crowding.

Where can I buy the Kanto SP32 speaker stands in Toronto or Canada?

The Kanto SP32 swiveling floor speaker stands are available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. Vinyl Sound is an authorized Kanto dealer serving customers throughout the Greater Toronto Area and shipping across Canada. Purchasing from an authorized Canadian dealer ensures full manufacturer warranty coverage and access to knowledgeable local staff for Kanto speaker and stand pairing advice.

This Book is a Must-Read for All Parents!
I had been intrigued by for awhile and finally read it last year. I loved it and it made so much sense to me. My husband and I ended up discussing it for awhile and still do occasionally. We have five-year-old boy/girl twins and I felt it was important for me to read The 5 Love Languages of Children because I want my children to grow up securely, knowing they are truly loved. The 5 Love Languages of Children is written by Gary Chapman, author of The 5 Love Languages, and Ross Campbell, a psychiatrist who specialized in the parent-child relationship. If you've read The 5 Love Languages, you will recognize the same elements discussed in that book but this time, they apply to children, which is where Ross Campbell's expertise comes in to play. Since children are ever-changing and differ developmentally than adults, the concepts presented in this book are a great way to get to know your child better and hopefully have a more peaceful, loving household with children who grow up to be loving adults. This book is comprised of 223 pages and there is a chapter devoted solely to each love language. Then, there are chapters that discuss discipline and learning, along with the love languages. There is also a chapter to help you find your child's love language, although this can be difficult because children are constantly changing so it's definitely a great idea to learn how to speak all five to them! I'm so glad I read this and I wish I had read it sooner. My kids are still young and I think what I've just read can really help as they get older. I've been thinking about what their love languages could be and it's actually a bit difficult to pinpoint but now I've got the tools to help figure it out! If you are a parent, I strongly recommend reading this book. I'm glad I bought it so I can refer to it in the future. Even if you've read The 5 Love Languages, you'll want to read this one as well since there are differences between children and adults and the way they think. It's worth the time to read this book!

I agree that children are gifts and that they should be raised surrounded by love. It won’t happen without working on yourselves first. Great information and very interesting!

Every parent should read this
What an eye opening book, not even just for how to understand the different ways to love your children, but on how people in general feel and express love differently. I firmly feel that every parent should be sent home with one of these books after having a baby. It has helped me understand things from my childhood and the lack of love I received, it has helped me understand my husbands love language and of course my sons. This book has revealed so much in so many different levels. It is any easy read and hooked me right away.

I'll admit I was skeptical
Ordinarily, the follow-on books are kind of flat. The Elizabeth George "After God's Own Heart" books seemed this way, although the first one, "A Woman After God's Own Heart" was excellent. I was expecting the same sort of flatness from this book. I found a lot to apply in the original Love Languages book, and I'm still sneaking it into my marriage. It's one thing to tell your Quality-Time husband that you are a TOUCH wife, and a whole different thing to gently convince him to touch touch touch touch touch touch. It has brought me to a whole new level of positive reinforcement. So I figured this one for kids would be a couple of hundred pages of telling parents that kids need *every* love language. And indeed, there was some of that. But the book was full of clues for how to recognize your child's love language, how it may change over time, and how to communicate. The book offered a lot. I thought the chapters on conflict were very worthwhile, and even on how to discipline in the different love languages. My kids are so different that I needed all the pointers I could get. And surprise -- thinking about love languages across generations has helped me communicate better with my parents, too -- off to a good start, anyway. I read this 6 months ago. My eldest started talking more, to me and to other people, NOTICEABLY more, and it's bringing me some relief from one of my biggest parenting worries -- how remote this child has been. That has been the biggest and most immediate change in our family recently, and I can trace it to this book. I would recommend you read the first Love Languages book first, and then this one to think specifically about your kids. Oh, and for moms, definitely read A Woman After God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George. It's family-enhancing.
