As a result, bacteria, incomplete digested proteins, and fats may “leak” out of the intestines, through holes in the lining, into the blood stream. (This is not the same as sepsis).
Leaky gut triggers an autoimmune reaction. Your body’s immune system kicks into gear to fight what it sees as a foreign invader in your blood system.
