These pots were used in the 19th and early 20th centuries to preserve small fish (sardines, anchovies) in Italy. With its two handles and magnificent colouring, It's perfect for decoration or for holding a bouquet. 

Made with a twice fired buttermilk/ivory coloured pewter glaze. This particular pot is two-tone in a classic ivory and mustard yellow. 

We have a variation of different anchovy pots currently in stock. Each is perfectly imperfect, beautiful piece with charm! The pots have minor dents and chips but no major cracks. 

Both sides of the pot can be shown in the photographs.
