We are fortunate enough to take in the view of these vines each morning - the vines that have inspired years of Mitchell wines. A sentimental favourite, this is a wine that will only get better with age and will reward those who show patience and planning.

Blackcurrant, bay leaf, cherry and plum aromas are infected with slight smudge of Clare Valley mint and bitter chocolate, yet the wine is pointed, medium-bodied, detailed, vibrant and long. The level of extraction – 6 weeks on skins before 2 years in barriques – is perfectly tuned to the style. Drink to 2028.
