Big turn offs for me. -No/poor editing. -Page formatting makes my eyes bleed. -The font tries too hard to be fun--especially for an instructional book. -pages feel cheap. -image quality is abysmal. - none of the information I was looking for and lots of information I wasnt.

This book is so basic it doesn't really help much in tips on identifying rocks and minerals. The photos are enlarged so much they are distorted and most photos are of the rocks cleaned and polished. That doesn't help with how to spot things in nature or where to look. I'm really disappointed. Also, Montana has a lot of cool rocks but all books ever speak of are sapphires and agates. I feel like I wasted my money. There are some helpful things but even as a beginner, most of the contents are known.
