PEGylated magnetic manganese zinc ferrite nanocrystals (amino terminus) are modified with PEG amino groups on the basis of manganese zinc ferrite. PEG is a polymer with good water solubility and biocompatibility. By coating PEG molecules on the surface of magnetic nanocrystals, their water solubility, stability, and biocompatibility can be improved. PEGylation can also reduce non-specific interactions between nanocrystals and living organisms, decrease toxicity, and prolong their circulation time in the body. In addition, PEGylated magnetic manganese zinc ferrite nanocrystals can be further functionalized, such as connecting targeting groups, drug molecules, etc., to achieve more accurate diagnosis and treatment.
