Six Questions Your Vision Source Franchise Financial Model Must Answer

We built this optometry practice revenue stream analysis using our own research into the unit economics of a premium eye care clinic. Key assumptions for revenue like eye exams and eyewear sales, plus operating expenses and the $45,000 franchise fee, are pre-populated and fully editable. With year one revenue projected at $1,330,000 and EBITDA starting at $340,000, this tool helps you see the real-world potential of your investment.

When does this practice reach profitability?

Profitability Timeline

Your unit hits a positive stride quickly, with the break-even date landing in April 2026. By year two, EBITDA is projected to climb to $459,000 after accounting for the 2.5% royalty and 1.0% marketing fees, showing a clear path to scaling your medical clinic capital expenditure planning.

Boost Your Margins

  • Upsell premium lens coatings
  • Optimize optician scheduling
  • Bundle wellness exam packages
[dynamic_pic9]
What is the total investment and where does the money go?

Capital Allocation

To get this clinic off the ground, you are looking at a significant layout. The total investment covers the $45,000 franchise fee, $150,000 for leasehold improvements, and $100,000 for diagnostic equipment, plus you'll need a healthy cash buffer to handle the early months before patient volume ramps up.

Top Investment Uses

  • Leasehold Improvements: $150,000
  • Diagnostic Equipment: $100,000
  • Initial Inventory: $40,000
[dynamic_pic10]
What are the expected investor returns?

Return on Investment

The financial feasibility study for new medical franchise shows a 2-year payback period, which is quite strong for a clinical model. With an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 8.02% and a focus on profitability metrics for boutique eyewear retail, the model suggests a steady, reliable return once the initial capital is recovered.

Key Return Metrics

  • Payback Period: 2 Years
  • IRR: 8.02%
  • Year 5 EBITDA: $1,105,000
[dynamic_pic11]
What is the monthly break-even revenue?

Break-Even Analysis

You need to hit your stride by month 4 to stay on track with the April 2026 break-even target. The biggest driver here is your eyewear sales volume, so keeping your opticians focused on a high average ticket is defintely the fastest way to cover that $17,000 monthly rent and professional labor costs.

Speed Up Break-Even

  • Pre-book eye exams early
  • Lower frame shipping costs
  • Cross-train reception staff
[dynamic_pic12]
How much cash runway is required?

Cash Runway

The lowest cash point occurs in July 2026 at $916,000, which means you need to be very careful with your medical clinic capital expenditure planning during the first six months. Having a solid runway is vital because unexpected delays in equipment delivery or insurance credentialing can eat through your buffer fast.

Protect Your Cash

  • Stagger equipment payments
  • Negotiate rent abatement
  • Limit initial frame stock
[dynamic_pic13]
How do different scenarios impact the bottom line?

Scenario Planning

The model allows you to toggle between Low, Medium, and High cases to see how a 10% drop in patient volume or a spike in lab fees affects your year-1 margin. In the high-growth scenario, your ROI analysis for medical franchise investment looks much better, as fixed costs like rent stay flat while revenue from corporate wellness contracts scales.

Hit the High Case

  • Aggressive local SEO
  • High patient retention
  • Maximizing exam lane throughput

Built for people who love nugget ice!
Color: Piano Black
If you love nugget ice, this machine delivers exactly what you’re hoping for - soft, chewable, restaurant-quality pellet ice at home, consistently and quickly. The biggest differentiator is speed and volume. It produces up to 35 lbs per day, and the first batch is ready fast. The ice texture is true crushed pebble/nugget style - not hard cubes disguised as “pellet” ice. It’s ideal for iced coffee, sparkling water, cocktails, and entertaining. The stainless steel exterior feels premium and modern on the countertop. Noise level is typical for a countertop ice maker, noticeable but not disruptive. It’s not silent, but it’s absolutely reasonable for the output.

Short life span
Color: Piano Black
We really liked this ice maker. The good-the water reservoir and ice basket are larger than in our last one, so we only refilled this one maybe once a day (family of 4). The ice didn't build up on the side and trigger the ice maker full shut off like our previous one. It is quieter than our last one too, and seemed to make ice just as fast. The bad-it doesn't turn itself back on as the ice melts and refills the water reservoir. The really bad-we've only used distilled and RO water in it. We've been fighting with it for a couple of months now to get it to make ice. We've cleaned it over and over with the cleaning solution. We also cleaned the vents as suggested with a vacuum and compressed air. It's to the point that it literally makes 2 ice cubes every time we start it, and that's it. We bought it 6 months, and we're giving up on it. We'll try another brand.

Almost Perfect
Color: Piano Black
Came from another ice maker and I miss two things: 1) size. This unit is tiny. It might be good if it’s just for you and maybe one other person, but for a family of four where everyone uses ice for their drinks and water bottles around the clock, this was constantly empty and needing more water. 2) the ability to start making ice on its own after there’s enough water. It has a sensor to tell you when it’s full of ice and it has a sensor to tell you when the water level is low, but it doesn’t have a sensor to tell it when the water has been refilled. You have to push the “ice making” button twice to get it to restart. Not a huge problem, but if you’re like me and leave your ice machine on 24hrs a day, you could come back to an empty ice machine after the ice in the basket melts. With my old ice maker, the machine would sense the water was low and stop. But then all the ice that was already made and in the basket would melt and fill the reservoir again and the machine would sense that and start back up on making a new batch small gripes, I know. Overall, it’s a nice, cute little ice maker and my kids love nugget ice.

Compact, lightweight, and useful milk frother.
I ordered the Electric Handheld Milk Frother in the Starlight Black color. I don’t drink coffee, let alone fancy coffees where I would normally need a milk frother, so I bought this for one reason and one reason only: scrambled eggs. I make a ton of scrambled eggs. Now, I can whisk eggs by hand just as well as the next person, and I’m not entirely convinced a frother whips them better than I can, but regular whisks take up a ton of room in my drawers and this does not. I really just wanted something compact that could whip my eggs into a nice frothy consistency without taking up much space. Even better, this one looks nice enough to just leave sitting on the counter where I can grab it easily. I will note that although I can hand whisk easily enough, there are many people who cannot due to arthritis or other issues, and this whisk is a brilliant tool for them. If you actually want to use a frother for other things, this one does perform very well. It has three speeds and comes with three different attachments: a spring whisk for latte and cappuccino foam, a balloon whisk for eggs and cream, and a hook whisk for blending protein powders or mixes without lumps. I actually ended up using the hook whisk while making pot roast. I mixed the seasoning packet with water using this frother and it blended everything perfectly with no lumps at all. The frother itself is lightweight, pretty quiet, and very easy to clean. The attachments detach easily and just need a quick rinse under soapy water. It also comes with a magnetic wireless charging dock that uses the included USB-C cable. The docking connection is simple and secure, and charging has been completely hassle-free so far. The LED display shows battery levels at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%, which is useful for knowing when it needs to be charged. Overall, it’s a simple, convenient kitchen gadget that does exactly what I wanted it to do and I am quite satisfied with it.
