It looks simple — until you notice the surface.

No two rings are exactly the same, making it a distinctive choice for a wedding band, anniversary ring, or everyday gold ring.

If you’re drawn to jewellery with quiet character rather than a polished, factory-made finish, this piece has that balance of simplicity and individuality.

Molten gold is poured straight into sand, and the surface records that moment. The result is subtle texture, soft variation, and a ring that feels shaped by process rather than forced into sameness.

Who this ring is for

  • A unique gold wedding band with natural texture
  • An alternative wedding ring that doesn’t feel mass-produced
  • A handmade 9ct gold band in NZ
  • A flat profile gold ring with subtle surface detail

A different kind of wedding band

If a traditional polished band feels too uniform, this offers something quieter. The form is simple, but the surface carries variation — a reminder that no two pieces, or stories, are the same.

How this differs from a polished band

  • More texture, less shine
  • Subtle variation instead of uniform finish
  • Feels made, not manufactured

Made using sandcasting

Molten gold is poured into sand rather than a fixed mould. This creates natural variation in the surface — soft grain, slight shifts, and texture that can’t be repeated exactly.

Available in Other Metals
This ring can also be made to order in 9ct white gold or 9ct red gold — just get in touch to discuss. White gold is priced slightly higher due to material costs. We’re happy to talk through options before you commit.

Customise Your Ring
You’re welcome to make it even more personal — use your own gold, or provide sand from a special place (a favourite beach, perhaps) to be included in the casting process.

Includes Collector’s Edition Presentation
Your ring arrives in our handcrafted walnut keepsake box, a premium heirloom presentation befitting investment pieces.

Sturdy Oil Filter Wrench
Color: Silver
I bought this sturdier Oil Filter Wrench when I was having trouble removing the oil filter on my 2003 BMW 1150RT with a stamped steel oil filter wrench that I had previously used. It still slipped, but adding a strip of grit mesh between the filter and the filter wrench saved the day. I still like this cast aluminum filter wrench better than the stamped steel one.

Does not fit Chevy LS3. Too big.
Color: Silver
Does not fit 2014-17 Chevrolet SS (LS3 V8) genuine GM oil filter. It slips. It's supposed to measure 74 mm flute to flute, but actually measured 77 mm with calipers. This wrench looks like it was used and was re-packaged with office tape. I purchased correct size from dealer that fits perfectly.
