For ultimate protection, it is recommended to use a GESP surge protector on both ends of long cables, such as an outdoor GESP unit near the antenna and the GESP+POE-IN injector indoors to protect the switches. Proper grounding is critical; the included grounding wire must be securely attached to a grounded structure like a mast or rack to effectively dissipate harmful electrical charges.
