The Edison and Ford families raised many tropical and exotic plants in Fort Myers, Florida. In addition, a ‘fruit tea’ was often served to family and guests on the banks of the Caloosahatchee River.
Edison & Ford Winter Estates is a 25-acre National Historic Register site. For instance, you will find historic homes, a museum, a laboratory, and research gardens of two of the nation’s most influential scientists and entrepreneurs, Thomas Edison and Henry Ford.
The Estates is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm throughout the year and until 9 pm in December.
