The Hollyland Replacement Headset On-Ear Earpads for the SOLIDCOM M1 Pro are premium factory-original replacement cushions designed specifically for the speaker housing of the Pro-series intercom headsets. While the standard M1 system often utilizes isolating over-ear designs, the M1 Pro introduces these specialized on-ear (supra-aural) cushions to balance environmental awareness with direct communication feed.

Engineered to endure the intense, daily physical demands of broadcast television crews, live concert technicians, and event coordinators, these earpads are a critical maintenance component for keeping your wireless intercom fleet operating at peak comfort and performance.

Acoustic Tuning for Dynamic Environments

The primary structural difference of the On-Ear Earpad is its contact profile. By resting directly on the ear rather than enclosing it, the pad provides unique benefits for specific crew roles:

  • Situational Awareness: It allows secondary ambient sounds from the physical room to pass through naturally. This is essential for stage managers, live sound engineers, or safety coordinators who need to monitor the local environment while simultaneously listening to the wireless intercom channel.

  • Pressure Optimization: The on-ear geometry reduces the "plugged-ear" isolation effect, minimizing ear fatigue and making communication feel more natural during intensive, multi-hour production schedules.

Advanced Protein Leather and Ventilated Design

Hollyland utilizes a highly refined protein leather (albumen texture) composite to construct the outer wrap of the M1 Pro earpads. This advanced material is coupled with high-resilience internal foam to deliver professional-grade durability:

  • Skin-Safe Interface: The ultra-soft finish eliminates chafing, hot spots, and pressure-point pain on the outer cartilage of the ear.

  • Moisture Defenses: Unlike traditional open foam that acts like a sponge, the premium non-porous exterior resists the absorption of sweat, facial oils, and hair products. This keeps the internal acoustic core dry and structurally sound.

  • Acoustic Transparency: The center of the pad features a fine, sonically transparent mesh that protects the underlying speaker driver from dust and debris while allowing crystal-clear audio to pass through unhindered.

Fleet Sanitation and Operational Hygiene

In large-scale production environments, rental houses, and corporate AV operations, headsets are frequently cycled through multiple users across consecutive shifts. Because the earpads sit directly against the skin, they can easily become a vector for bacteria.

Maintaining a dedicated inventory of genuine replacement on-ear pads allows technical coordinators to maintain strict safety and hygiene standards. The protein leather surface can be safely wiped down with alcohol-based sanitizers between user changes, or the entire pad can be swapped out instantly to provide an incoming operator with a fresh, sterile headset.

Precision Twist-and-Lock Attachment

When an earpad gets damaged or worn down in the middle of a live broadcast, there is no time to mess around with tools, mounting glue, or loose rubber rings. The Solidcom M1 Pro On-Ear Earpads feature an integrated, hard-molded twist-and-lock mounting mechanism on the rear flange.

To replace a pad, the operator simply turns the old cushion counterclockwise to unlock it from the headset housing, aligns the keyways of the new pad, and rotates it clockwise until it snaps firmly into place. This mechanical lock ensures that the pad remains perfectly secure, even when the headset is yanked out of a gear bag or dropped onto a hard studio floor.

Technical Summary

  • Type: Genuine Hollyland factory replacement on-ear (supra-aural) earmuff cushion.

  • Compatibility: Explicitly designed for the speaker housing of Hollyland Solidcom M1 Pro headsets.

  • Material: Premium protein leather composite skin with an integrated high-resilience foam core.

  • Application: Enhances situational sound awareness, restores original factory ergonomics, and maintains strict gear sanitation standards across a production crew.

By incorporating fresh Solidcom M1 Pro On-Ear Earpads into your standard kit maintenance rotation, technical teams can ensure their wireless communication assets remain perfectly sanitary, comfortable, and highly reliable for the most demanding live event environments.

a great guide to DC treasures
Format: Flexibound
This is not a guide book in terms of giving you directions and hours of operation, but it would be a wonderful first step in planning a memorable trip to the nation's capitol. Nineteen themed trails are given, seven in and around the Mall, six nearby, two across the Potomac and two farther afield. Themes include animals (Rock Creek Park, National Zoo, the George Washington University hippo (statue), the National Museum of Natural History, Owney the stuffed dog at the National Postal Museum, Oxon Hill Farm, Kingman Island and the Franciscan Monastery and National Cathedral -- and a blurb about presidential pets), statuary, music, food, horticulture, power, sports, ghosts, architecture, literature, transportation etc. As you can tell these aren't walking tours. Instead each theme gets four pages filled with photos, drawings, fun facts and information about festivals, artifacts, history and spectacle. I try to get to WDC once or twice a year, yet I still found plenty of interesting ideas for further exploration. If you are planning a visit (with or without kids),this would be agreat way to help them choose a few things they'd like to see. Information is presented in a friendly way but is not dumbed down. There is an adequate, if incomplete, index. It would be useful to have a calendar of all the events listed too.
