The fossil measures 105 mm (4.2 inches) across with matrix, which is very large for this species and fossil type. The suture lines are clearly visible and very striking and the ribs are well defined. It has a nice pyritic/metallic colour and shine. These are very popular ammonites but are becoming hard to find due to lack of erosion of the right layers in the cliffs. This is a fine example and of a quality that is hard to come by these days.
Around 196 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
