Six Questions Your 1-800-Packouts Franchise Financial Model Must Answer

We built this franchise unit financial model using our own research into the contents restoration sector. Key assumptions like the $18,000 monthly rent and 7% royalty fees are pre-populated and fully editable to reflect your specific market. With Year 1 revenue projected at $1,425,000, this tool helps you validate the unit economics before you sign the agreement.

When does the unit turn a profit?

This unit is projected to reach its break-even date in April 2026, just 4 months after launch. With Year 3 EBITDA climbing to $548,000, the model shows a strong upward trajectory as service contracts and storage fees mature.

Profitability Drivers

  • Optimize technician utilization rates
  • Increase recurring storage revenue
  • Reduce restoration supply waste
  • Secure high-margin commercial contracts
[dynamic_pic9]

What is the total investment needed?

You will need a significant capital injection to launch, with the model showing a minimum cash requirement of $833,000 by June 2026. This covers the $62,500 franchise fee, $150,000 in facility improvements, and $100,000 for climate control systems to protect high-value assets.

Major Capital Uses

  • Facility Improvements: $150,000
  • Climate Control Systems: $100,000
  • Initial Franchise Fee: $62,500
  • Restoration Equipment: $60,000
[dynamic_pic10]

What is the expected investor return?

The model projects an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 6.04% and a Return on Equity (ROE) of 2.73. With a 3-year payback period, the initial investment is recovered relatively quickly for a capital-intensive restoration business.

Key Return Metrics

  • 6.04% Internal Rate of Return
  • 3-year payback period
  • $1,146,000 Year 5 EBITDA
  • 2.73 Return on Equity
[dynamic_pic11]

What is the monthly break-even target?

The unit hits break-even in month 4, driven primarily by the high-margin pack-out services and storage fees. Fixed costs like the $18,000 monthly rent mean you need consistent volume from insurance adjusters to cover overhead.

Speed to Break-Even

  • Accelerate insurance adjuster referrals
  • Minimize pre-opening labor costs
  • Front-load local marketing spend
[dynamic_pic12]

How much runway is required?

The lowest cash point occurs in June 2026 at $833,000, meaning you need a solid liquidity buffer during the first six months of operations. Estimating operating costs for pack-out services accurately is vital to avoid a cash crunch before the Year 2 revenue of $1,770,000 kicks in.

Cash Flow Protection

  • Phase climate control installation
  • Negotiate rent abatement periods
  • Monitor accounts receivable closely
[dynamic_pic13]

How do different scenarios perform?

Projecting revenue for contents restoration services varies based on local disaster frequency. While the medium case shows Year 1 EBITDA of $237,000, a low scenario with 20% less volume could push the payback period past year 4 and significantly increase peak cash needs.

Hitting the High Case

  • Build exclusive adjuster pipelines
  • Maximize climate-controlled storage occupancy
  • Upsell white-glove cleaning services

Works great. Keeps things nice and tidy.
Color: Black, Color: Black
Works great! I regularly use the end of my dining table as a spot to use my laptop and really wanted a more organized way of keeping the cord tidy. This of course would also easily work on a desk as well It's completely made from a nice stretchy and durable silicone and could accommodate pretty good size chargers. My charger is pretty small so it doesn't fit tightly, but it still works perfectly. It's also super easy to install. The reverse side of this has really strong adhesive to hold onto whatever flat surface you attach it to. Mine is adhered to the underside of a wood table and so far it doesn't appear to have any issues with it. I should mention that since it's held on by adhesive, it's not something you can easily move after installed, so put it where you want it to permanently be. That said, for the price you can easily get a second or a third one if you need it in multiple locations. Overall, it works great and it really keeps my laptop charger off the floor and everything is nice and tidy.

Nice, BUT a few mounting holes would have made it 5 stars!
Color: Black*2
These seem to be fine but since I have to use this to hold a power brick to a wood joist which is NOT smooth, the included adhesive back is not something that will hold securely! I ended up have to screw two wafer head screws through the rubber backing and into the joist to hold the holder to the wood joist securely. If they put some thought into the design, it would have been nice, if they had incorporated a few mounting holes, which would have taken care if this being mounted to items that are not smooth such as a wood joist or other rough surfaces!

Tight squeeze for a 240w but works well
Color: Black
This works pretty well. It was a little bit of a tight squeeze for a 240w brick, but it's stable at least. Strong adhesive

Solid Floating Shelves 🛠️🏠
Color: Black, Number Of Shelves: 4, Size: 15.7in
I have installed four sets of the black floating shelves in my office. They are made of high quality materials, featuring a sophisticated black woodgrain finish with a natural texture. Supposedly, each unit can handle up to 22 pounds, though I would not recommend testing that limit with your vintage bowling ball collection if you value your flooring. They are awesome. The value is good for a set of two. Each shelf measures 22x7x1 (56x17x3 cm) inches, providing a decent amount of storage for books or decor. The installation was straightforward since the hardware for multiple wall types was included. They work well in the kitchen for spices or in the bedroom for personal belongings. One tip for a secure fit: use a level during installation and make sure the bracket is flush against the wall before sliding the shelf on, or your photos might look like they are sliding off a mountain 📐 These shelves offer a clean, modern look and stay stable once mounted correctly. They are a practical choice for adding functional display space to any room 🖼️

Good looking shelves and easy install - skip the included drywall anchors
Color: Black, Number Of Shelves: 2, Size: 22in
I installed these shelves in a bedroom to get things off my dresser and some decor. Once mounted they look really nice. The black finish looks clean and modern and they blend in well with the room. Installation was pretty straightforward. The metal bracket mounts to the wall first and then the shelf slides over the bracket. As long as you take your time lining things up it’s a simple project. One thing I strongly recommend is not using the white plastic self-drilling drywall anchors that come with the kit. I’ve used that style before on other projects and they tend to strip out easily and leave larger holes in drywall. I used better anchors instead and the shelves mounted much more securely. The rest of the hardware worked fine and once installed the shelves feel solid and hold items well. Pros - Clean modern look - Easy installation - Feels solid once mounted - Good size for books or decor Cons - The small level included isn’t very accurate — use your own level - One of the metal brackets was slightly bent out of the box but straightened out easily Helpful tip: Use your own level and better drywall anchors if you have them. It makes installation easier and the shelves will mount much more securely. Final thoughts: For the price these are nice looking floating shelves that install easily and work well for light storage and decor.
