How to install Cisco Aironet 3600i

Installing the Cisco Aironet 3600i starts with planning your coverage and selecting mounting locations that maximize signal reach while minimizing interference. Begin by mapping high‑density areas, such as conference rooms, lecture halls, lobbies, and open office floors, to determine optimal AP placement. Use site surveys or heat maps to identify potential hot spots and plan for sufficient overlap to enable seamless roaming between access points. After selecting locations, follow these steps to install the 3600i efficiently and securely:

Step 1: Prepare for deployment by confirming PoE availability on network switches or injectors. The 3600i is designed to operate with Power over Ethernet, which simplifies cabling and reduces the need for separate power sources. Ensure the switches support the required PoE standard for reliable illumination and device performance. Step 2: Mount the access point on the ceiling or wall using the provided brackets and hardware. Correct orientation matters; position the AP to optimize line‑of‑sight to the majority of client devices while avoiding proximity to large metal surfaces, microwaves, or other strong RF sources that could cause interference. Step 3: Connect the 3600i to the network using a PoE Ethernet cable. Make sure the switch port is configured for appropriate VLAN tagging and QoS policies to preserve service quality for voice and video applications. Step 4: Power up the device and begin the adoption process. In a Cisco environment, the 3600i should be discovered by the Cisco WLC and adopted to receive centralized configuration, security policies, and firmware management. If you are operating in a standalone mode, follow the device’s on‑screen prompts or management interface to enable basic settings and security parameters. Step 5: Configure SSIDs, security settings, and access policies. Define at least one primary SSID with the appropriate security profile (prefer WPA2‑Enterprise with 802.1X for business users). Apply guest access rules for visitors and set up bandwidth controls to maintain predictable performance for business applications. Step 6: Optimize RF deployment. Use channel planning, transmit power control, and band steering to maximize coverage and minimize interference. Monitor real‑time performance, adapt to changing usage patterns, and deploy firmware updates as recommended by Cisco to ensure ongoing reliability and feature enhancements. Step 7: Validate performance and coverage. Perform post‑deployment testing to confirm signal strength, roaming behavior, and data rates across several client devices. Document the configuration, including SSIDs, security credentials, and location IDs, to simplify future maintenance and scaling. Step 8: Plan for scale. As your user density grows or new devices enter the network, expand coverage by adding additional 3600i units in strategic areas and centralize management through the WLC to maintain consistent policy, security, and performance across your wireless fabric.

Great, soft, high-quality pillows, but too thick for me
Size: Standard (Pack of 2), Style: Soft, Configuration: Pillow
This will be a brief review of my pillow journey. I tried a few of the most popular pillows, like MyPillow, Amazon Basics, bamboo/shredded foam, memory pillows, but my most common complaint about them were that they were all just too high and firm for me. I am a restless sleeper and alternate between back, side, and stomach sleeping, and I strongly preferred the stomach sleeper/flat pillows with a polyester fiber/down alternative filling. Here's a ranking of my 4 top pillows: Eversnug Adjustable Layer Pillows - (#1) These were THE pillow for me. I had never heard of these pillows or the company, but I really like being able to adjust my pillow. These pillows came with 2 small, 2 medium, and 2 large pillows and 2 twin zippable pillow pouches. All of them were polyester fiber filled and somewhat flat and soft, but not lumpy. The pillows may not come the exact same sizes, but they are close enough for me. These are the pillows I ultimately decided to stick with, despite being slightly more expensive than the others at $50 for a set of 2 pillows. Nappler Bamboo Shredded Memory Foam Pillow - (#2) Before I found the Eversnug pillows, I was trying the adjustable bamboo shredded memory foam ones. These were my go-to whenever I was testing pillows I didn't like very much. The only downside to these pillows is that if you don't add enough filling, you could feel the edges of the shredded foam. Also, the "bamboo" cover was way too warm and the inner zipper would get too easily caught. Amazon Basics Down Alternative Pillow - (#3) I don't think I've ever been disappointed by an Amazon Basics product yet. These pillows were soft, amazing pillows, but they were 1-2 inches too thick/firm for me. MyPillow - (#4) Despite all the hype around these, they were too lumpy and 1 inch too thick for me. Like I said previously, I ended up going with the Eversnug Adjustable pillows, which I absolutely adore. A tiny bonus is that you can take the pillows you don't use and rest them on your sides or between your knees for some extra cushioning.

Good price and pretty comfortable
Size: Standard (Pack of 2), Style: Soft, Configuration: Pillow
These down alternative pillows are incredibly soft and comfortable, especially for stomach and back sleepers. The soft density gives just the right amount of support without feeling too firm or too flat. I’ve been sleeping much better since switching to these pillows, and they stay fluffy throughout the night. I also love that they’re hypoallergenic, so there’s no irritation or overheating while sleeping. The standard size fits perfectly in my pillowcases, and the white color looks clean and fresh. Getting a 2-pack at this quality is a great value. Highly recommend for anyone looking for cozy, hotel-style pillows at an affordable price!

Comfortable Pillows
Size: Standard (Pack of 2), Style: Soft, Configuration: Pillow
These pillows have a nice soft feel and are so comfortable. They’re supportive without being too firm, so my neck feels comfortable throughout the night. They’re lightweight, fluffy, and easy to adjust for different sleeping positions. The material feels smooth and well-made, and the pillows hold their shape better than I expected for the price. They use some alternative fill instead of real feathers which is good for people with allergies.

Mid range quality
Size: Standard (Pack of 2), Style: Soft, Configuration: Pillow
They work for kids who aren’t picky. Size fit twin bedding well. Look nice and clean. Quality is mediocre. It wasn’t filled very much even after giving time for it to breathe and fluff. Kind of lumpy and lopsided.
