Meticulously aged for years in ex-bourbon barrels, El Tesoro 85th Anniversary Extra Anejo Tequila showcases the finest blue agave harvested from the distillery's estate. With an alcohol content of 40%, it is best enjoyed neat or on the rocks to fully appreciate its exquisite flavor profile and celebrate the legacy of El Tesoro's distilling expertise.
Distilled in NOM 1139 from Tequilana Weber agaves sourced from the fertile Los Altos region in Jalisco, where it is crafted using traditional methods that underscore its rich heritage. The agaves are cooked in stone and brick ovens and crushed using a tahona, preserving the natural flavors. The spirit benefits from the mineral-rich deep well water of the area. During production, it undergoes an open-air fermentation process in wooden tanks with fibers, which helps to enhance its depth and complexity. It is distilled twice in copper pots and then aged in a unique combination of American White Oak, used whisky barrels, which lends it distinct notes of vanilla and spice. This meticulous process ensures an additive free tequila, offering a pure expression of its regional and production characteristics.
