Overview

The Fu Manchu Lionfish, also known as the Twin Spot or Two-Spot Lionfish, is a small and striking species recognized by its long “moustache-like” chin barbels and vivid orange body adorned with dark bands and eye spots. Compact, hardy, and full of personality, this unique lionfish makes a captivating centerpiece for a peaceful predatory marine aquarium.

Origin

Native to the Indo-Pacific region, including Indonesia, the Philippines, and the Great Barrier Reef, Dendrochirus biocellatus inhabits rocky reefs and coral slopes, often hiding in caves or crevices during the day.

Feeding

A carnivore that prefers live foods initially, such as small shrimp or fish, but can be weaned onto frozen meaty foods like mysis shrimp, silversides, and krill. Feed once daily, ensuring all food items are appropriately sized.

Tank Mates

Peaceful toward fish too large to be eaten, the Fu Manchu Lionfish can coexist with other non-aggressive species such as hawkfish, tangs, and larger wrasses. Avoid small fish or crustaceans, which may be viewed as prey.

Aggression

Generally peaceful and reclusive, spending much of its time perched among rocks or corals. It is best kept singly or as part of a mated pair in a spacious tank with plenty of hiding spots.

Experience Level

Recommended for intermediate to advanced aquarists. While hardy, this species requires careful feeding management and stable water conditions.

Water Parameters
  • Temperature: 75°F – 80°F (24°C – 27°C)
  • Salinity: 1.020 – 1.025 SG
  • pH: 8.1 – 8.4
  • Alkalinity: 8 – 12 dKH

Compact, colorful, and full of character, the Fu Manchu Lionfish is a fascinating and rewarding addition to a peaceful predatory or species-specific marine aquarium.

Very moisterizing
the Mau Island secret after sun tan is very moisturizing and it prevented peeling after a deep island tan. My skin does look dewy and smooth. I did not however find the scent as lasting or even as strong as I would have liked in an after sun lotion, its rather light, still a nice scent. I found it a little pricey in comparison to Hawaiian tropic or others.

Love this product
This product has been the best. A small amount goes a very long way. You don’t feel greasy after just moisturized. To me, it doesn’t really smell like anything. it’s not overpowering or noticeable after it’s rubbed in. I definitely will recommend and continue to buy.

I tan pretty easily. I tan outside during the summer time ...
I tan pretty easily. I tan outside during the summer time and the winter i go to a nearby tanning salon to keep my tan going. I dont know why certain people say that this product smes like coffee, but it does not smell like coffee to me. It smells like paradise on beach. like thr tropics. and I love the smell. I also love the fact that within 1 use of this , i got a darker deeper tan . took me to the next level. noticed a huge differrence in my tan. I love this tanning lotion. and as far as people saying that its too oily, well, it is oily, but that honestly doesnt bother me one bit. this is by far the best tanning lotion i have ever bought. if u want to get a good tan thats natural. this is the stuff to get.

Best lotion for sunburned skin
After a vacation in Hawaii, I thought I’d never get to have this lotion again. I saved the bottle from 15 years ago, just as a memory. On a whim, I looked on amazon and here is was!! The best after sun lotion ever!!! Sun burns don’t hurt on the second day. Keeps burned skin moist and flake free. Peeling is minimal if you use the lotion daily. I still use it, even though my summer tan has been established. Smells like my vacation all over again!
