9g Citrulline, 5g Creatine, 400mg Caffeine—Fully Loaded

Anabolic Warfare DEFCON 1 is a no-secrets, high-stim pre-workout packed with real performance boosters. You get solid energy, serious pumps, good endurance doses, and actual strength support—not just fancy labels. This isn't some basic stim drink pretending to boost your workout. It's for lifters chasing that full ride: quick kick-in, sharp focus, pumps you can see, and stamina to keep pushing after the buzz peaks.

It kicks off with 9,000mg of L-Citrulline Malate 2:1. That gives you about 6g of straight L-citrulline plus malate. Citrulline boosts arginine levels, which ramps up nitric oxide—think better blood flow, fuller muscles, and more oxygen and nutrients hitting where you need them. The malate helps with fatigue and keeping your work output high, like in those tough pre-workout studies.

Beta-Alanine comes in at 5,000mg. That's way over the usual 3.2g daily dose that builds carnosine in muscles. Carnosine fights off acid buildup during intense efforts. So it shines in high-rep work, quick sprints, or sessions where the burn usually stops you short. The tingles hit fast, but the real wins come from using it daily over weeks.

DEFCON 1 also packs 5,000mg creatine monohydrate and 5,000mg betaine anhydrous. The creatine is a full daily dose—helps refill phosphocreatine for power, more reps, and long-term strength gains. Betaine at 5g is a big hitter; studies often use a

Key Highlights

  • 9,000mg L-Citrulline Malate 2:1 delivers about 6g of real citrulline. That's the sweet spot for nitric oxide boosts. You'll feel better blood flow, muscles looking pumped, and workouts that just feel different—not just a number on the label.
  • 5,000mg Beta-Alanine is a strong dose, beating the standard 3.2g for building muscle carnosine. It helps in those killer high-rep sets, short rests, or back-to-back efforts where acid burn normally kills your momentum.
  • 5,000mg Creatine Monohydrate is the real daily dose, not a cheap add-in. It recharges your energy for explosive reps, keeps strength up, and supports better progress over time with steady use.
  • 5,000mg Betaine Anhydrous stands out here—most pre-workouts cap at 2.5g or skip it. It boosts cell hydration and power, making this feel like a true workout booster, not just a caffeine jolt.
  • 1,200mg Alpha GPC 50% gives you around 600mg active stuff. That's a solid hit for focus and connecting your brain to your muscles. You'll notice it on precise lifts, machines, or any workout where staying sharp matters.
  • 1,000mg Nitrosigine® is a patented arginine silicate that boosts nitric oxide and flow differently than citrulline. It layers on the pumps for a fuller effect than single-ingredient formulas.
  • 254mg VasoDrive-AP® is a high-end vascular booster you don't see in everyday pre-workouts. These bioactive peptides help keep blood vessels toned, stepping up the flow game beyond basic caffeine and citrulline mixes.
  • 400mg total caffeine from 175mg anhydrous, 175mg natural, and 50mg zümXR® delayed release. It starts fast and lasts longer, keeping energy steady through your whole session instead of peaking and dropping.

AW DEFCON 1 by Anabolic Warfare contains 20mg Thiamine (Vitamin B1), a clinical dose for muscle protein synthesis.

Who Is This For?

  • Bodybuilders in growth phases wanting more than a buzz. 9g citrulline malate, 1g Nitrosigine®, 254mg VasoDrive-AP® deliver visible pumps and flow, while 600mg active Alpha GPC sharpens mind-muscle in volume work.
  • Powerbuilders needing raw drive and set-after-set power. 5g creatine monohydrate fuels bursts, 5g beta-alanine and betaine keep quality high from heavies to accessories.
  • Veteran high-stim fans past weak 200-250mg options. 400mg total caffeine with dual sources plus delayed release gives a better curve than one-shot deals.
  • Guys in hot gyms or sweaty sessions needing electrolyte help. 500mg sodium is a real plus for avoiding flat pumps, low drive, or cramps when hydration dips.
  • Athletes in grind phases with short rests and draining sets. Beta-alanine, creatine, betaine, and stims stack up when pushing through fatigue is key.
  • Lifters who want strong energy without the jitters. 500mg L-theanine with 400mg caffeine makes it focused and controlled, not wild.

How to Use

Mix 1 scoop in 12-16 oz cold water, take 20-30 minutes pre-training. Times perfect for caffeine, Alpha GPC, and pumps to peak on working sets. New to high-stims? Half-scoop first to test, since full hits 400mg caffeine, 200mg theobromine, 5g beta-alanine. Shaker beats stirring for this 31g scoop. Empty stomach? Faster kick. Stim-sensitive? Light meal smooths it. No stacking with other caffeinated stuff or nootropics same time. No need to cycle pumps or creatine, but break for caffeine if tolerance builds from daily use. Keep sealed, cool, dry—big doses can clump with moisture. Off days, some add creatine separate to stay loaded, since creatine and beta-alanine need consistency for top results.

What to Expect

Minutes 0-10: mixes easy, and if beta-alanine tingles get you, they'll show early at 5g. Minutes 10-20: caffeine ramps, mind clears, theanine keeps it steady. Minutes 20-40: prime time—focus dials in, pumps kick as you start, body feels powered up beyond just buzz. Minutes 40-90: built to last, with theobromine and zümXR® stretching the energy so no quick crash like basic caffeine. Days 1-7: feel the instant energy, focus, pumps first, while creatine and beta-alanine start loading. Weeks 2-4: gets better for performance—saturated creatine and carnosine make repeats and fatigue fight noticeable. Rare pre that improves as a tool with regular scoops.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much caffeine is in Anabolic Warfare DEFCON 1?

DEFCON 1 delivers 400mg total caffeine per scoop. That comes from 175mg caffeine anhydrous, 175mg natural caffeine from green coffee bean extract, and 50mg zümXR® delayed-release caffeine for a faster onset plus a more sustained energy curve.

Is DEFCON 1 a true high-stim pre-workout?

Yes. At 400mg total caffeine plus 200mg theobromine, this is firmly in high-stim territory. It is designed for experienced users who want strong energy, not for beginners looking for a gentle daily pre.

How much actual citrulline does the 9g citrulline malate provide?

Because it uses a 2:1 citrulline malate ratio, 9,000mg provides roughly 6g of actual L-citrulline plus about 3g malate. That places the free citrulline content right in the clinically relevant range for nitric oxide support and performance-oriented pumps.

Why does DEFCON 1 include both citrulline malate and Nitrosigine®?

They support blood flow through different but complementary routes. Citrulline increases arginine availability through the citrulline-arginine pathway, while Nitrosigine® is a stabilized arginine silicate complex with its own research on nitric oxide and vascular support.

Will DEFCON 1 make me tingle?

Probably, yes. It contains 5,000mg beta-alanine, which is more than enough to produce the harmless tingling sensation known as paresthesia in many users, especially if taken on an empty stomach.

Can I take DEFCON 1 in the evening?

For most people, that is not a good idea. The 400mg caffeine load plus 50mg delayed-release zümXR® is specifically designed to last longer, which can easily interfere with sleep if taken later in the day.

Do I still need separate creatine if I use DEFCON 1?

On training days, no—the formula already gives you the full 5g clinical dose of creatine monohydrate. On non-training days, many users still take standalone creatine to maintain saturation consistently.

Is DEFCON 1 fully transparent or does it use proprietary blends?

It is fully transparent. Every major active ingredient and dose is disclosed on the label, which is a major advantage in a category where proprietary blends still hide underdosed formulas.

What does the 1,200mg Alpha GPC 50% actually mean?

It means the raw material is standardized to 50% active Alpha GPC, so 1,200mg yields about 600mg active Alpha GPC. That is a strong dose for cholinergic focus and mind-muscle connection support.

Can I stack DEFCON 1 with a pump formula?

You can, but many users will not need to. With 9g citrulline malate, 1g Nitrosigine®, and 254mg VasoDrive-AP®, the pump side is already stronger than most all-in-one pre-workouts; if you do stack, choose a stim-free pump product and avoid adding more caffeine.

Definitely worth the read!
Format: Kindle
After taking a deep breath and taking in that wicked twist of an ending, I have finally composed myself. My first thought when I started this book was that I love Reyna's character. I was intrigued by her connection with her familiar and the Ruin that is plaguing her land. It came as no surprise that she took her sister's place in an attempt to protect her. When they reach the Air Court everything slows down. This is where it was iffy for me. First of all, I like multiple POV's in books however 7 is a bit much. It starts to interrupt the story line. I felt like I was finally making progress connecting with one character, then it was switched to another person. I felt they all had necessary or pertinent information but not necessarily were they all POV worthy. The only other thing that annoyed me was that Reyna constantly was " trapped." She would rush off without thinking, only to need rescuing. She is brilliant in a fight, but she really doesn't think through anything. Lorcan is amazing. I know he might be on the "bad" list, but his background is so interesting. Eislyn(Reyna's sister) is really so sweet, but calculating. I enjoyed her and Thane's dialogue. The author did an amazing job with the imagery in this book. Everything was so detailed it was easy to fall into the scene. I love unexpected twists and while part of the ending I expected, I wasn't expecting how it took place. All in all, I found it very entertaining and I am very invested in continuing this series. Favorite quotes: "The truth may be twisted but never false." "Who was she if she was not the enemy of the Air Court? What was her purpose of she no longer has that?" "In a war-torn land, love was always a lie."

Great Read!!! Great story!!!
Format: Kindle
The series is long, but Ms. Wolfhart does a fantastic job of weaving this tale while bringing so much to the characters. Surprises and plot twists along the way to keep you intrigued. There is some graphic sex, but is no way the focal point. Grammar was excellent (a rare find with a lot of self publishers) with only a few noted errors. I rarely give 4 stars, let alone 5.

Sadly, DNF
Format: Kindle
I read this thru KU. I LOVED the synopsis. And then I began reading... and it was a DNF at 68% after picking it up and putting it down several times because I really loved the main female character. *****SPOILERS***** Pros: The world is unique, intriguing and fun. The primary female character is bad-a** but not a b*tech or a mary sue. The primary female has depth. I really want to know what happens to her even tho it's been weeks and I don't remember her name. The villains to the point I read are pretty good -- an ever present threat of mysterious and possibly many culprits. Cons: Way, way too many points of view. I stopped counting at 7. It's the prime reason why I don't care about most of the characters or remember their names even when I like them. There's just too many points of view so almost none of the characters have enough book space for the author to properly develop them. This literally killed the book for me. Actually it killed my desire to read. For weeks. The main male is more villain than hero. He agreed to marry the main female then locks her up & eschews her for her sister, all while bad mouthing her as unfit to rule when he never spent any time with her getting to know her. He is actually unfit to rule as he is blind to the woes of his own kingdom and starts off a peace mission to secure a ceasefire through marriage by murdering an inn full of people in her country for no real reason. Plus, he constantly makes promises he does not keep. And it's gross of him to pine for the sister behind the main female's back. ***** As much as I really wanted to see what happened to the main female character, it wasn't enough for me to keep trying to slog thru this book. There was a lot of potential here that just fell short. Hence, 3 stars.

Fae Courts with High Intrigue
Format: Kindle
This book is one that just builds and builds and then surprises you to no end. You may think you know the villains and then you are jolted in another direction. Princess Reyna is a real gem, strong of character, a fierce fighter, and loyal to her family and kingdom. Just when you think she and Lorcan, well you know, the plot is flipped. Can't wait to see where this goes in book two.

Slow, sorry but good
Format: Kindle
This was a slow moving book. Lots of character pov chapters, lots of superfluous descriptions and endless courtly appearances stalled this book to start. Once you get into the heart of the story, it takes off. Before you know it the book is done. My favorite character is Reyna. She is so strong. She is true to herself. She gets into a lot of trouble with her headstrong ways but it's entertaining. I have high hopes for Lorcan. He is honorable to a fault. Thane had turned out to be better than I thought but i still don't like him. Eislin is useless. Great plot twists at the end. I'm looking forward too book 2.
