100m Roll of KEY 6B&S (13.5mm²) Black Single Core Automotive Cable: Engineered for Demanding 12V/24V Systems

High-Current Automotive Cable for Reliable Power Distribution

The KEY 6B&S (13.5mm²) black single core automotive cable is designed to deliver consistent, low-resistance power in 12V and 24V DC automotive, marine, and off-grid applications. With a 103A current rating at 30°C (JASO D609), this cable is well suited for high-demand circuits such as auxiliary battery charging, inverter connections, and solar input wiring. The 100-metre roll provides ample length for large installations or multiple projects, reducing the need for joins and minimising potential voltage drop.

Manufactured with plain annealed copper conductors (168/0.32 stranding) and a durable V90HT PVC insulation rated to 90°C, this cable offers excellent flexibility and resistance to heat, abrasion, and automotive fluids. It is compliant with RoHS and relevant Australian/New Zealand standards, ensuring a professional-grade solution for installers and DIY enthusiasts alike.

Note: The 103A rating is based on JASO D609 at 30°C ambient. Typical de-rating factors apply for bundling and elevated temperatures.

About KEY Tubing & Electrical

KEY Tubing & Electrical (KTE) is an Australian-owned manufacturer with over 60 years of industry experience supplying electrical, cable, tubing, and custom-engineered solutions to industries across Australia and around the world. Based in South Australia, KEY is known for its commitment to quality manufacturing, rigorous quality standards, and reliable products designed for demanding automotive, electrical, industrial, and resource sector applications. KEY continues to support Australian industry with a strong focus on performance, durability, and dependable engineering.

Key Features

  • 103A current rating (JASO D609) for high-power circuits
  • 13.5mm² conductor area with fine 168/0.32 stranding for flexibility
  • V90HT PVC insulation resists heat up to 90°C, oil, and fuel
  • Low electrical resistance (1.4 Ω/km at 20°C) minimises voltage drop
  • 100-metre continuous roll reduces waste and installation time
  • Black outer sheath for easy identification in multi-cable setups

Built for Australian Conditions

This cable's V90HT insulation is stabilised to withstand the high under-bonnet temperatures and UV exposure common in Australian environments. The oxygen-free copper conductors provide superior conductivity and corrosion resistance, ensuring long-term reliability in coastal or humid regions. Unlike generic cables with lower strand counts, the fine stranding of this 6B&S cable enhances flexibility, making it easier to route through tight engine bays, chassis rails, and conduits without compromising current-carrying capacity.

Applications

Ideal for a wide range of low-voltage DC systems, including:

  • Auxiliary battery wiring in 4WDs, caravans, and camper trailers
  • Solar panel to regulator connections for off-grid setups
  • Inverter DC input cables (up to 120V DC maximum)
  • Marine electrical systems requiring high-current, flexible cabling
  • General automotive rewiring for lighting, winches, and accessories

With a maximum DC voltage rating of 120V, this cable is also suitable for 24V and 48V systems, providing versatility beyond standard 12V automotive use.

Why Choose This Cable Over Generic Alternatives?

Many budget cables use lower-grade copper or reduced strand counts, leading to higher resistance, increased voltage drop, and potential overheating under load. This 6B&S cable is manufactured to meet stringent JASO D609 standards, ensuring consistent performance and safety margins that generic products may lack. The 100-metre roll also offers better value for professional installers and enthusiasts undertaking multiple projects, eliminating the need for multiple shorter lengths and reducing connection points that can become failure sites.

What a ride.
Format: Paperback
How these two come together with the rest of the iconic characters is just so fun. Add in a Screaming Citadel and you're in for one hell of a ride. If you love Star Wars, pick it up. It could read as a stand-alone if needed. Part of the Doctor Aphra comics.

Absolutely top-knotch
Format: Kindle
9.5/10 This is the pinnacle of Star Wars comic books. A great way to tie in their Indiana Jones character in Aphra and the mainline series to tell an amazing story. Only complaint is a couple of the issues artwork I was not a fan of. I like the more realistic look. Just make sure you read Aphra book 1 and the previous SW books to understand it better. Aphra book 1 being more important

Star Wars embraces fantasy
Format: Paperback
This is Star Wars at its' strangest, and that's a very good thing. Luke and co. fighting through what could easily be Dracula's castle is a truly unique experience. I don't wish to say more for fear of spoilers. As a note though you will get more out of this if you've been following the Star Wars and Dr. Aphra comics. However you can get by without that knowledge as well.

Gothic Star Wars
Format: Paperback
This trade paperback collects all the issues for the Screaming Citadel story spread over several titles, including the main stay Star Wars series and the Dr Aphra book. As one might expect from a story spread over different titles with different artists and writers, the presentation varies. The art is all over the place. In the Marco Checchetto-drawn initial issue, everyone’s favorite amoral artifact hunter, Dr Aphra, is a striking space vixen. But in the following issues she’s hardly recognizable as the same character--mousier, if still menacing, in her trademark Russian tanker’s hat. To a lesser degree, the same is true for the other characters, including the main SW group. It’s understandable, but a bit disconcerting. The story centers on Dr Aphra, who, in need of a Jedi for one of her typically nefarious purposes, recruits Luke into her scheme. Unfortunately for Aphra, she’s up against a more ruthless foe in the harlequin-looking vampire-like Queen of the Screaming Citadel. Before long, the rest of the group has to show up to rescue them. It’s a gothic story, set in scary castle—not the usual Star Wars fare. There are some good points. Dr Aphra’s almost sociopathic outlook is always good for a few choice lines, the “murderous machines” Bee Tee and Triple Zero are on hand for their own gruesome commentary and some of the Queens hench-people, while not given much to do, are interestingly designed. But overall, the horror movies plotline didn’t seem much like Star Wars to me. Recommended for those who enjoy that type of story, or completists.

Luke and Doctor Aphra team up!
Format: Paperback
This is the second crossover event in the Marvel Star Wars comics. It brings the ongoing Doctor Aphra and Star Wars series together. I liked the pairing of Luke with Aphra. They play well off of each other with Luke's naive goodness and Aphra's experienced gray morality. I liked when she called him a wannabe padawan. There are some well designed characters in this comic. The residents of the Screaming Citadel have a goth bdsm vibe. Luke even gets to dress up. I liked seeing him in something different. I want to know more about Sana and Aphra's past!!! Please, Marvel, make a queer love story prequel!!! The murder droids are wonderful. Having them on the same side as the "good guys" for at least the time being led to some funny situations. The last panel intrigued me. I give this graphic novel a 4/5. I am always here for more Doctor Aphra!
