De SX10 heeft een progressive constant curve. De mast volgt een constante curve, maar is stijver in het onderste deel dan in de top. Dat geeft veel power onderin, terwijl de top de druk juist snel loslaat. De buigcurves van SDM en RDM zijn vergelijkbaar, maar RDM is sterker en daardoor beter in wave-condities. SDM heeft een snellere reactiecurve, meer stabiliteit en snellere acceleratie, en is daarom meer geschikt voor vlak water.
