Op de grens van Bourgogne en Beaujolais, op het kruispunt van de Mâconnais en Beaujolais tussen de dorpen Leynes en Chaintré om precies te zijn, ligt Château de Lavernette. Het landgoed viel al sinds 1596 onder het gezag van de monniken van de abdij van Tournus, die toentertijd de landsheren van het gebied waren. De wijngaarden maakten toen al deel uit van het domein en ook stond er al een "tinailler" (wijnopslagplaats) met daarin twee persen en vier grote tanks. Tegenwoordig behoort het eigendom van Chateau de Lavernette, toe aan de familie de Boissieu, afstammelingen van de familie Lavernette. Al generaties lang maken ze verschillende stijlen Pouilly-Fuissé, Beaujolais en Beaujolais Blanc.

De wijngaard wordt sinds 2005 verbouwd volgens de technieken van de biologische landbouw, met respect voor land en natuur om zo prachtige terroirwijnen te creëren. Sinds 2007 werken zij volledig biodynamisch. Xavier, zoon van Bertrand en Anke, en Kerrie, zijn vrouw, werken allemaal samen op het familielandgoed. Door de diverse combinatie van hun kwaliteiten, ervaringen en kennis weten ze op Chateau Lavernette eerste klas Bourgogne wijnen te produceren.

I don’t normally read books with pregnancy but going into this knowing she was pregnant made it more enjoyable for me. I loved Bishops devotion to her and her happiness. I also loved that Holt and Mercy couldn’t fight their attraction to her. I love scent matches so very much. I’m so curious to see how this duet will end up. And I need to pay more attention and notice that a book I’m starting is a duet to begin with lol
