In 1999 richtte Charles Smith het Amerikaanse wijnhuis Charles Smith op, tijdens een roadtrip naar Walla Walla waar hij een wijnmaker ontmoette die hem inspireerde om zelf wijn te gaan maken. Het wijnhuis is vooral bekend om zijn premium wijnen uit Washington State, die regelmatig in binnen- en buitenland bekroond worden. Charles Smith produceert een uitgebreid assortiment wijnen, waaronder Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah en Merlot. Het karakter van de wijnen van Charles Smith is gedurfd en expressief, waarbij er veel aandacht wordt besteed aan het terroir van Washington State. Charles Smith hanteert een innovatieve en onconventionele aanpak bij het wijn maken, waarbij hij gelooft dat passie, creativiteit en respect voor de druiven en het terroir de sleutel zijn tot succes. Dit resulteert in wijnen met een uniek karakter en een opvallende expressiviteit. Voor deze Riesling wijn werden de wijnstokken in 1998 aangeplant in de buurt van de Columbia rivier. De wijnstokken staan achter steile kliffen en worden daardoor goed beschermd. De bodem bestaat uit basalt en kalksteen, verweerd gesteente uit de laatste ijstijd, die rijk is aan mineralen en het regenwater snel afvoert naar diepere lagen. Als de druiven optimaal rijp zijn worden ze zorgvuldig geoogst en naar de wijnmakerij gebracht. Hier volgt een fermentatie in roestvrijstalen tanks. De temperatuur tijdens de vinificatie werd gecontroleerd om ervoor te zorgen dat de aroma's en smaken van de druiven behouden bleven.De geur en smaak van Charles Smith Kung Fu Girl Riesling
De Kung Fu Girl Riesling is een geweldige wijn geworden met een heldere gele kleur in het glas. De geur is verfrissend en fruitig met tonen van nectarines en perzik. De smaak is levendig dankzij de fijne zuren die een mooie balans brengen tussen zoet en zuur. De fruitigheid is mondvullend en brengt veel zachtheid naar voren. My 8 yr old son read it on his own. He liked it but some parts were a bit gross and scary for him. It is along the lines of the I Survived books. He said it was a good story because it was based on real life even though some of the parts were a little scary.

Read it to ok for 9 year old

I heard about this series and wanted to see if it would be up her alley. I downloaded this book to read before bed and now it's the middle of the night. I ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ the book. I'm a woman in my 40's and it was a great read for me! I know my daughter will really enjoy it.
She struggles with her vocabulary so I've been selecting and pre-reading books and gathering words I know she will be challenged by. Then I make those her spelling words for the week and use the words in sentences 100k times until she knows them. Doing that has really improved her reading experience and helps her flow through the book easier and enjoy it far more.

USS Indy 500

Very good book. Super interesting and great articulation for a young reader. Very captivating and very inspiring. I’ve read escaped prison island aswell (check it out) and Scott peters and Ellie Crowe are really good authors! Definite read and I love how they tied in ww2 to something you would have never associated a shark story with. Learned a lot thx.

This is an unbelievable story. Of course I had known of the USS Indianapolis and the shark attack, but never had I actually listened to a first hand account. How terrified these men had to have been. Its beyond comprehension really. The sacrifice, bravery and fortitude humbles me. Thank you to all who serve.
