Herkomst en wijngaard

Clos Apalta 2021 komt van steile, amfitheaterachtige wijngaarden in de Colchagua Valley. De percelen liggen op hellingen met granietrijke bodems, waar lage opbrengsten en handmatige oogst zorgen voor maximale concentratie en zuiverheid.

De combinatie van warme dagen en koele nachten in Colchagua draagt bij aan rijpe tannines en behoud van frisheid, essentieel voor balans in deze wijn.

Jaargang 2021

Het groeiseizoen van 2021 werd gekenmerkt door gecontroleerde rijping en optimale oogstmomenten. Dit resulteerde in druiven met intense aromatische expressie en een verfijnde structuur.

Druivensamenstelling

Clos Apalta 2021 is een blend waarin Carmenère een centrale rol speelt, aangevuld met klassieke Bordeaux-druiven.

De wijn is samengesteld uit:

  • 75% Carmenère
  • 18% Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 7% Merlot

Deze samenstelling onderstreept het karakter van het domein en de unieke positie van Carmenère in Chili.

Vinificatie en rijping

De druiven voor Clos Apalta 2021 werden met de hand geoogst en streng geselecteerd. De vinificatie vond plaats met minimale interventie, grotendeels via zwaartekracht om de structuur zo intact mogelijk te houden.

De wijn rijpte op eikenhouten vaten, zorgvuldig gekozen om complexiteit toe te voegen zonder het terroir te maskeren. De rijping ondersteunt de wijn in lengte en diepte, met een duidelijke focus op balans.
