DIRTY SONGS text and phhotographs of Kevin Ayers/Soft Machine (Christmas On Earth Continued, London, 22.12.67) and drummer (The Roundhouse, London, 7.9.68) by David Toop. DIRTY SONGS PLAY DIRTY SONGS is the musical offshoot of a project conceived by artist Maxime Rossi, originating in (among other things) speculations on the (then unreleased) legendary Pink Floyd “John Latham” recordings (1967) and FBI investigations (1964) into subversive and obscene messages supposedly buried within the recorded lyrics of The Kingsmen’s “Louie Louie”. Developed through conversations between Maxime Rossi and David Toop and through support from Fondation Fiminco & MRAC, these ideas metamorphosed into the band and recordings known as DIRTY SONGS, existing both as audio recordings and audio-visual elements of Maxime Rossi’s installation Christmas On Earth Continued, exhibited at MRAC in November 2017.

If your eyes have a sensitivity to sunscreen, they may have a sensitivity to this one. This product made my eyes burn for two days, with multiple washings. I have had problems with La Roche Posay sunscreen — if that is a helpful association. It has dimethicone —a silicone— in it (which might be the irritant). Its common in beauty products but some people avoid it for various reasons. If you have no sensitivities and don’t mind the silicone, then it could be an acceptable option for the value. It went on smooth and light, left no cast, and had a very mild scent. I will use it on my limbs, but I can’t use this on my face.

It is practical, cheap and reliable for day to day, but it is not the most "perfect" if you are looking for a totally dry finish or super hydration. If you want, tell me your skin type (dry, oily or mixed) and I'll tell you if it's the best option for you or if there's an even better one.

Very good sunscreen. It is very similar to the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer sunscreen but with less/minimal fragrance. It absorbs immediately and feels matte and invisible. The only slight downside is that the silica in the sunscreen is actually so good at absorbing oil that it is mildly drying. This is great for people with oily skin, but people with acne like myself often use retinoids that are already very drying, and this can magnify the dryness. I often follow this sunscreen with some moisturizer to counteract the drying effect.
