Dive into a high-stakes, supernatural historical thriller with Dark Blood, written by the award-winning screenwriter Latoya Morgan (The Walking Dead, Parenthood) and featuring the evocative art of Walt Barna. Originally published by BOOM! Studios, this graphic novel is a powerful exploration of trauma, resilience, and the cost of survival in Jim Crow-era America.

This copy is Brand New, making it an essential addition for fans of historical fiction with a sci-fi twist, "prestige" indie comics, and character-driven supernatural dramas.

A Powerful Blend of History and Sci-Fi

The story follows Avery Aldridge, a Black veteran of World War II who is struggling to provide for his family in Alabama. Avery is a man with a secret: he was the subject of strange experiments during the war that left him with incredible, and often uncontrollable, abilities.

  • Tense Historical Setting: Latoya Morgan expertly utilizes the setting to explore the systemic racism and personal struggles of the 1950s South, grounding the supernatural elements in a deeply human reality.

  • Atmospheric Visuals: Walt Barna’s art perfectly captures the era's mood, blending grounded, realistic character designs with surreal and explosive manifestations of Avery's powers.

  • Deeply Personal Narrative: At its core, Dark Blood is a story about a father’s love and the lengths a man will go to protect his family from a world—and a past—that wants to destroy him.

Great shoe. Slip on is easy and the shoes are comfortable and classy. Ten months later and the bottom has holes and didn’t last.

Love it
Size: 11, Color: Black
Almost the perfect travel shoe. Goes well with both casual and formal attire. Walked like a million steps with this in Japan, SEA, etc. only thing it probably can't do is probably hiking. Otherwise the leather feels really high quality, and the shoe slips on without much fuss. I'd describe the style as: a dressed-up Converse

Great shoe, horrible lace design.
Size: 13, Color: White, Size: 13, Color: White
This shoes look great and the materials for the actual shoe feel great. They run a little big that doesn't bother me. Unfortunately, the lace design is horrible. I've now have 2 pairs of these shoes and both times the bottom lace has ripped out of the stitching. The first time was on the 2nd day I wore them, and the replacement pair to those it happened after I walked 20 feet. Both times I've tied a knot in the bottom lace so that I could get through the day. Ideally these laces should be connected together and not attached to the shoe (this is how both of my Skechers Slip-ins are designed). Because I like the rest of the shoe so much I'm buying elastic laces to replace the horrible original laces.
