The Music Man StingRay Special begins with an ash body shaped in Music Man's classic double-cutaway StingRay form. This body, seamlessly maneuvered across a stage, makes for a solid foundation off which the rest of this musical experience can bloom. Reaching out, this StingRay Special features a "C"-shaped roasted maple neck treated to a gunstock oil and special wax finish, making it play effortlessly across its full length. Assembled with a 5-bolt sculpted joint, this neck is sturdy and reliable. The roasted maple of this neck fills out to a fingerboard bearing twenty-two stainless steel frets. Connecting with a fluid yet solid fretting experience, the StingRay Special is primed for fast maneuvers from lower to higher registers for expressive and dynamic playability.
Tonally, the voice of this StingRay Special comes alive through a lone neodymium humbucker wired with a 3-band, 18-volt preamp that offers wide worlds of tone to mix through. Volume, Treble, Mid, and Bass controls enable the exploration of interesting spectrums of bass tone perfect for any aficionado to really get involved with.
